Several days ago, I weeded a patio flowerbed and rearranged some birdfeeders. I noticed that two feeders looked a bit forlorn and needed to be replaced.

On Saturday (when going to the play – a previous post) we took some items to Jubilee (secondhand store) and still had fifteen minutes before picking up Inge at the other end of town, so went inside with the purpose of finding something that could be used as a birdfeeder.

I found it! A colander. I love it, but when hanging on a hook it was a bit “loosie goosey”.

I figured that might be uncomfortable for the birds, so came up with a new arrangement.

I slipped one handle over two dogwood tree branches for a bit more stability.

Then I cut a piece of garden wire and attached it to another branch.

Now it is stable and tilted back a bit. The birds love using it.
