What looks to be a pretty, misty morning is actually smoke laying in our valley.
It is from a local composting facility that was on fire several weeks ago and is still smoking on some days.
We can smell a smoky atmosphere some mornings, but in other areas of the valley the scent is not so pleasant. We are closer to the mountain, so the smoke and scent usually evades us.
It is so unpleasant when you can smell smoke from nearby fires! It sounds as if this fire is under control while they pt it out, so it won’t travel towards you — and I think we’d have heard about it if it was placing homes or further acreage in danger. I hope the fire will be out soon!
We haven’t driven by lately, but I think the fire is out and is not a danger to the community. It is probably a mile and a half to two miles across the fields from our place. It is the smell that is bothersome to our area.
