Bumble Bees Gathering Nectar

I didn’t see the bumblebees at first because I was just admiring the pretty cockscomb flowers at Jakey and Crystal’s patio during Peyton’s birthday party (yesterday’s post).

Then I noticed two bumblebees searching for nectar.

I had to check the internet to see if Bumble Bees do indeed collect nectar:

From the internet: Bumblebees, like honeybees, are capable of producing honey but not in the same quantities as honeybees. They collect nectar from flowers and store it in wax pots for their colonies to feed as they grow. However, bumblebees do not make as much honey as honeybees because they only eat honey when nectar sources are low, such as during droughts that prevent flowers from blooming.

They are beautiful creatures in their gold and black colors.
