Truck Rally
Saturday Morning – Another Sampling of Trucks
June 26 ~ Part 4
Most colors were represented
This was a new one for our show.
I love when they arrive in long lines.
I think these antiques must have met somewhere, then traveled together.
Daryl Emery didn’t know it at this point – but this 1063 B-75 was the Best of Show! When an antique wins that award you know it was well taken care of.
They came from the west and the north
It’s easy to figure out whose side he is on.
These waited while another driver caught up.
Arriving from the east
John & Karen Rissler and their boys came from California, Missouri, and won Best Testimony.
Sitting in the shade until the Parade of Trucks began.
By this time most vendors were set up.
Helping dad (Paul Rissler) get his truck in good shape.
He won 1st place in the category 1994-1999
TFC’s International Chapel waiting for the 11:00 a.m. signal of everyone “blowing air horns.”
Cerwin had four girls in his cab – three granddaughters (Diana, Jana, and Gloria,) and Jana’s friend Kinsey.
Gloria giving me a thumbs up.
Trent, Sherry, and Will Stoner
I’ve photographed this parade for twenty-five years, and don’t remember ever seeing an Amish buggy.
Horses don’t usually like big rigs, but this one was doing okay.
A dry crust of bread eaten in peace and quiet is better than a feast eaten where everyone argues.

Truck Rally
Saturday Morning – More Trucks Arriving
June 26 ~ Part 3
I love watching the trucks arrive – some I recognize from previous years, and others seem to be new.
Sometimes people ask us the purpose of the Truck Rally. It has turned into a nice fundraiser for TFC, but that is not the reason we put a lot of time and effort into making it a family fun day for trucking families.
We know that truckers are on the road for many hours and days each week, and need events that are fun for the driver, their spouse and children.
The easiest way to describe the truck rally in relation to the ministry that is carried on by TFC during the rest of the year is that it would be similar to what a church picnic is to a church fellowship.
I don’t always know the names of the drivers – but this one I know because he is our son Jeff.
This is only a small sampling of the beautiful rigs. There are more to come.
The main thing to keep in mind here is that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of private opinion…it’s not something concocted in the human heart. Prophecy resulted when the Holy Spirit prompted men and women to speak God’s Word.

Truck Rally
Saturday Morning
June 26 ~ Part 2
Trucks of all sizes and makes arrived during the morning – new trucks and antiques – most of them came between 9:30 and 10:30
By the end of the morning there were 185 trucks!
For as the sky soars high above earth, so the way I work surpasses the way you work, and the way I think is beyond the way you think.

Friday Evening & Saturday Morning
June 25 & 26 ~ Part 1
During Friday evening setup at the Expo Center, the food committee packaged more than 1,000 cookies for Saturday evening’s meal.
A pretty, young helper
Saturday – the big day – begins with prayer and breakfast at a local restaurant for committee members and some of their early morning helpers.
The Lebanon Expo Center parking lot at 7:00 a.m. The large building (North Hall) on the left is where the benefit auction and gospel concert will be held later in the day. The long building on the right is the busiest this early in the morning as vendors are setting up in preparation to show and sell their wares.
Trucks begin arriving even though the “parade of trucks” is still four hours away.
A narrow view of North Hall
Shortly after parking, many drivers touch up their already shiny rigs.
The Rigidply “stage” and “banner hoist” arrive.
Randy hands registration information to Tony, who is pulling the stage.
Attaching the banner and preparing it to be hoisted above the entrance driveway.
My Shadow
I placed my lawn chair near the road in preparation for photographing trucks as they arrived.
I wasn’t there very long before I realized that I would soon need suntan lotion and something to drink. I called Jordan’s (grandson) cell phone and asked to talk to Jana (granddaughter), then explained where my needed items were located. Next I called Nelson Martin and asked if he would pick up the girls with his four-wheeler.
Kinsey (friend of Jana), Jana, and Nelson
Two cans of soda and suntan lotion should get me through the next three hours in the sun.
And they were off – going back to help our sons set up the benefit auction.

Bible School ~ Storm ~ Morning Beauty
Monday, June 21 through Thursday, June 24
Monday evening (June 21) we were pleased to present the ministry of TFC to the adult class at Blue Ball Church of the Brethren. Prior to the class, we enjoyed listening to the children’s opening program. The TFC chapel was parked in the church parking for the entire Bible School – Sunday through Thursday.
They were studying heroes, and we were honored that TFC was chosen as their “hero” for the week. There was a TFC staff or volunteer person booked as a speaker each evening. On the night we were there, this construction worker was the hero during the opening program.
I loved their creativity in using a toy truck as the offering container for the children.
The next night (Tuesday) we had a sudden ten-minute storm that produced hail, rain, and wind.
The storm brought lots of leaves and small branches down, making a mess of our patio and yard.
We were concerned about my brothers’ corn, but as you can see, it came through almost untouched.
However, we were surprised to discover that some fields of corn – just behind our house and within a five-mile block – were almost stripped of their leaves. These two fields are only a half mile apart.
It always amazes me that after a stormy evening, the next morning can dawn bright and beautiful.
Our yard was covered with dew – and leaves.
There were many small branches down in our one-acre woodlot and cleaning them up occupied a few hours of Cerwin’s time before he could mow yard.
I happened to be outside at just the right time to see the sunlight playing with the trees.
It created a “Garden of Eden” look.
Thursday night we had a repeat of hail, rain, and wind.
It rained so hard and fast that the spouting could not contain the water.
This one caused more damage to our trees.
This branch landed on our patio light.
It hung like this for almost a week – until Cerwin had time to replace it.
He put the new one up tonight.
Our Shasta daisies looked pretty in the calm after the storm.
Coming up tomorrow night – the beginning of what will be many entries from our Truck Rally Weekend.
