Visiting Davisville Church With a TFC Chapel
Southampton, PA – Sunday, May 26
I love enjoying my morning coffee as the scenery changes before my eyes.
Many flags reminded us that it was Memorial Day weekend as we traveled toward Philadelphia.
The chapel just after we got it set up in the church parking lot.
Some of the church members were already busy preparing lunch.
This is where Tish and Howard Jones have attended church for many years.
Howard was a TFC chaplain from the mid ’80s to mid ’90s and then TFC’s President for a few years. He is now President Emeritus and a volunteer chaplain in Elkton, Maryland.
Some of the cooks came to see the chapel during a break before church started. It was fun listening to Howard tell about some of his experiences on a chapel.

Pastor Tim Wilson challenged us to move out of our comfort zone this summer and reach out to those around us.
Why?
We are Christ’s ambassadors.
God reconciled us so we can be part of reconciling others.

Following the worship service, those who wished to stay enjoyed lunch on the church lawn.
It looks sunny and warm, but it was breezy and cool. Had it been warmer, the worship service would have been held outside as well.
We were pleasantly surprised to discover that Eleanor and Aaron Fox attend this church. I think we knew that years ago, but had forgotten. Aaron served as a chaplain and built two chapels in the early ’90s.
We enjoyed a busy early afternoon, telling people about the chapel, and listening to more of Howard’s stories before heading west on the Pennsylvania turnpike.
We got off at the Morgantown (PA) exit to meet Titus Beam – a TFC friend for many years – who had called a few days earlier to say that he had a donation of about fifty Winross model trucks for the Truck Rally Winross and Model Truck Auction on June 22.
He doesn’t live far from this exit, so we made plans to make this connection near Morgantown.
This was not quite the end to our day…

…but you will have to come back tomorrow night to see whose birthday we celebrated after the chapel was put in its parking space at the office.
We had only fifteen minutes to freshen up and get to her daughter’s house for the surprise.
