Radio City Music Hall – Part 4 Monday, November 29 Our Trip to NYC
Singing “New York at Christmas”
Traveling toward Times Square
The scene continually changed, just like they were driving through the city.
The next scene was after Ben and Patrick’s “magical” trip through a blizzard to the North Pole and Santa’s workshop. Mrs Claus and four elves welcomed them. (The stage was too dark to take non-flash pictures during the blizzard trip.)
Entering Santa’s workshop
When inside, Ben and Patrick (center) look for a gift for their sister.
Performing “Ragdolls”
The stage was fabulously lit during the song, “Let Christmas Shine.”

Live a lover’s life, circumspect and exemplary, a life Jesus will be proud of: bountiful in fruits from the soul, making Jesus Christ attractive to all, getting everyone involved in the glory and praise of God.

The Parade of the Wooden Soldiers was one of my favorite numbers
This is one of the show’s original numbers from 1933.
The costumes are of the same design created in 1933 by Vincente Minelli.
Each costume is made for the individual dancer.
The closing act of this number is quite cute.
Watch the arms of those in the beginning of the line after this cannon goes “boom” and everyone collapses.
The last soldier quickly goes for a large pillow after he sees what is happening.
Tomorrow night the performance “New York at Christmas”
Get out there and walk—better yet, run!—on the road God called you to travel. I don’t want any of you sitting around on your hands. I don’t want anyone strolling off, down some path that goes nowhere. And mark that you do this with humility and discipline—not in fits and starts, but steadily, pouring yourselves out for each other in acts of love, alert at noticing differences and quick at mending fences.

Every Little Girl’s Dream – a scene from The Nutcracker
Here Comes Santa Claus
There are 140 performers in this amazing, lavish performance that began in 1933.

The LORD is King! Tell the earth to celebrate and all islands to shout.

Our Trip to NYC
Our walk from the Empire State Building to Radio City Music Hall
We spent a lot of time in this area
I was glad to see the ice skaters, because shortly after this the skaters had to leave when setup began for the next evening’s tree-lighting celebration.
Then it was time for the 2:00 p.m. Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall.
This was the only flash photo I took, because after the show started we were not supposed to us a flash.
The orchestra section
A side stage
The ceiling – the small white spots were moving in a circular motion during this display.

The Rockettes were reindeer for this song
Pulling Santa Claus across the stage
These balls changed colors when the lights changed.

Stay with God! Take heart. Don’t quit. I’ll say it again: Stay with God.

Macy’s & The Empire State Building
Monday, November 29
Our Trip to NYC
Macy’s window displays are a popular attraction this time of year.
It was difficult to get good pictures because of the bright afternoon sun.
We went inside the door – just to say that we were inside.
Maybe we will shop here another time – but we had other things to do today.
Inside the front door
Out the door as we walk toward the Empire State Building
There was no way to get a picture of the girls and the top of the building without lying on the ground – and I was pretty close to doing that.
