Our Grandson Nathan

&

His Great-great-great Grandpa Jacob

My Great Grandpa Jacob Hershey DSC_0085

My sister, Nancy, was here this week looking through old family photos. When she saw the picture on the left, she asked, “Who is that? He looks like Nathan.”

We saw the resemblance as well, so today I asked Nate to pose like his great-great-great grandpa.

For those who know my Hershey family, Jacob is my great grandpa – my Grandpa Milton’s father.

Visiting Nate at Work

A few animals

Monday, January 9

~~~
We were on our way home from the TFC  birthday lunch for Jane as we approached the steel fabricating business where our grandson Nathan works, and decided to stop in to see him.
First we asked his boss if it was okay – and if I could take pictures. He seemed pleased to have us visit.
I particularly liked Nate’s duct taped shoes.
This reminds me of something his dad would do.
It was interesting to watch them work. There were a few other guys there as well – each doing other fabricating jobs.
After leaving Nate’s work, we drove by Jeff and Chris’ farm where the new cattle were enjoying their meadow.
I pray that the great God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ may give you the wisdom of His Spirit.
Then you will be able to understand the secrets about Him as you know Him better.
Jane chose Chinese for her meal.
For birthday celebrations at the office, the ladies take turns making a menu to fit the birthday persons preferance, email it to everyone who is attending, then we tell her what we will bring.
2 (2)
I don’t know the name for most of these food items, because I don’t cook chinese. However, I do enjoy eating it.
I do know these are egg rolls.
I offered to bring the Mandarin Orange Salad – lettuce, mandarin oranges, chow mein noodles, slivered almonds, and ginger sesame dressing.
Potstickers
I didn’t offer to bring or make those because I had no idea what they were.
Look what our grandson-in-law Nathaniel (married to Abby) found in a Pennsylvania barn when making repairs on another piece of equipment.
It was fun that Geoff and Will Stoner were there when we arrived on Saturday, because they know and love to restore old trucks.
While Cerwin and Geoff discuss the rig, you can see the silhouette of Will taking pictures of the interior.
If you would like to see those go to his FB (Will Stoner) entry on Sunday, January 8.
Everyone agreed that Nathaniel found and purchased a great antique rig.
The water that I will give them will become in them a spring which WILL PROVIDE them with life-giving water and give them eternal life. [Jesus]
John 4:14 (Good News Translation)
~~~

At the beginning of each year I set a goal to learn more about God or to grow strong in an area where I feel weak.

Due to dealing with the pain and emotions from my accident on December 21, I hadn’t settled on anything for 2012.

Over the weekend when meditating on the faith of Abraham and Joseph, God spoke to me about relying on and trusting Him to supply my needs, rather than being afraid or overly concerned about the many uncertainties I am facing.

The verse that really “grabbed” me was the one I posted yesterday.

So Abraham called that place the LORD will provide (Genesis 22:14 NIV).

My goal this year is to “put down a stake” or “take a stand” each time I feel fear, insecurity, or unnecessary concern. I am calling the crossroad where the accident occurred, “The Lord Will Provide.”

I want to receive courage and strength this year in knowing

The Lord Will Provide.
