Monday, May 18 This post won’t be as much fun as yesterday’s, because we had a very ordinary ten-hour drive to Pennsylvania. Ordinary is always good for a day trip – no detours, delays, accidents, or surprises. It was a beautiful, spring day. As we approached Pennsylvania, we saw a lot of flowering trees. I think […]

Friday, May 15 It was a bit hazy when we left Mark and Diane’s house – shortly after 6:00 AM. Our destination was Northern Maine Community College where our grandson Hezekiah would be graduating with an Associate Degree in Diesel Hydraulics Technology on Saturday morning. New leaves were beginning to fill in the brown branches […]

Monday, April 20 We left Dayton, Ohio, in rain on Monday – the final day of this road trip. Before long the skies began to clear. It was still cool and damp when we stopped for our first break. After many days in the north country, I was delighted to see signs of spring. Cerwin thought […]

Saturday, April 18 This was our view as we drove down the hill from our cabin at Camp Victory on Saturday morning. Before long we were driving by many Amish farms. This large ear of corn took us by surprise. Cerwin stopped and backed up so I could get a picture. Someone told us it was designed […]

Friday, April 17 It was a beautiful day for a five-hour drive to Zumbro Falls, Minnesota – southeast of where Bob and Doris live. Not long after we left their house on Friday morning, I noticed these two sandhill cranes almost camouflaged in the field. There were many opportunities to look for reflections in lakes and rivers.. These […]

Friday Morning, April 17 Before we say goodbye to them, I have a few more pictures. This one is from the end of their driveway. Their many white birch trees add great beauty to the property. I am not sure what kind of fungus was growing on this tree, but it was kind of pretty. […]

Thursday, April 16 Bob and Doris’ neighbor Frank came to show Cerwin the little machine he designed. I don’t understand how things like this work, but it makes sense to Cerwin. It operates by heat and sounds like a hit and miss engine. I am not a machinist, but it is easy to see that Frank’s skill is […]

Monday, April 13 to Thursday, April 16 Bob and Doris are also beekeepers. Two of their hives survived the winter – this one was quite busy when we were there. The other was not as busy, so most of my pictures came from the other one. Bees were constantly coming and going. Notice the yellow pollen […]

My husband, Cerwin, and I have four children, seventeen grandchildren (2 are in Heaven), and 19 great grandchildren. Cerwin spent 40 years as a truck driver for Ferrellgas. We are both retired from serving with Transport For Christ - a ministry to truck drivers - and love our life in rural Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
