Rain Drops That Looked Like Diamonds
~~~ Sunday, December 11 ~~~ When I looked outside in the early afternoon, I was captivated by the sparkling rain drops. Photos never do justice to nature, but you can get an idea of what I saw.
Rest in the Lord and be willing to wait for Him. Psalm 37:7 (NLV)
~~~ Saturday Evening, December 10 ~~~ At our church Christmas caroling is done by a variety of small groups, Sunday school classes and the youth group. Each group or class receives a list of names and nursing homes to visit and bless with Christmas songs. The lists include those in church who are 80+ which […]

~~~ Wednesday, December 7 ~~~ The Fruit Basket Committee and many other volunteers were part of preparing grocery boxes, poinsettias, and fruit baskets for those whose names were given to the committee. They packed 29 grocery boxes. These go to church members, friends and neighbors – maybe because of hospital experiences, illness or other things […]
~~~ Tuesday, December 6 ~~~ This is what I did with a pound of hamburger and leftovers from our family’s Christmas Lunch – baked potato and salad bar – two days earlier. Vegetable soup made with onions, sweet peppers, carrots, celery, chives tomatoes and anything else that helped to create a delicious soup. It made […]
~~~ Monday Afternoon, December 5 ~~~ Diane took us to Penn Cinema to see I Heard the Bells which was produced by Sight & Sound Films. It was based on the song I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day written by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. I will never listen to that song in the same way […]
~~~ Thursday, December 1 ~~~ Our daughter Diane arrived (from Maine) the day before to help with our family’s Christmas celebration. She spent the morning at Nate and Abby’s to be with their three children (soon four) so Abby would have time for appointments and shopping. When Jasmine heard that Grammy was going shopping with […]
~~~ Friday, November 30 ~~~ I was surprised that the birds were so busy on a cold rainy day. Focusing on the windowpane instead of the birds. I’m glad birds like cold rainy days.
~~~ Tuesday, November 29 12:37 pm to 4:10 pm ~~~ This was about the time I heard the machinery that was harvesting the corn. By the end of the day we had a view of all the homestead buildings.
The other night I went outside to say goodnight to the world before going to bed. This is what I saw. I went back inside for my camera so I could capture this beauty. A waxing crescent with a bit of haze. I changed my camera settings to see which photo I liked best. I […]
Late fall and winter days are often a variety of contrasts in colors – sometimes it seems to be cold with only black and whites – other times there are beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The other day, following the funeral for Cerwin’s cousin Ruth, we continued on to Roy and Deb’s house to deliver a […]
