Time with My Sister

Wednesday, November 13 I spent several hours in the hospital with Nancy – giving their girls a break as they wait for Marlin (Nancy’s husband and the girls dad) to wake up following emergency, high-risk heart surgery. His medical team was encouraged by his response to commands when they allowed him to wake up for […]

Things Techy

Last week was one of those weeks when I needed technicians at the house and office. First, I began getting a message on my office postage meter, saying the battery was low. I went online with Pitney Bowes and chatted with someone who send me a new postage machine. We had no idea how to […]

Saturday Evening, November 9 The title of this post is a play on words from the book “How Green Was My Valley”. I am not sure I ever read the 1939 novel by Richard Llewellyn, or watched the movie based on the book, but I always liked the title. Maybe because I have lived in […]

Friday Evening, November 8 We were honored to be invited to attend The Collingsworth Family concert by our friends Gene and Rose Gehman. The Birds are Back!

The birds have not had to come to our feeders the past few months because of all the grain in the fields – plus some of them were living north of us – but now they are back. The House Finches have been here all summer, but rarely needed to come to the feeders. I […]

We had fun with Anthony the other day while his mom took baby Jasmine to the doctor for a routine visit. After watching two Paw Patrol shows, we spent an hour on the floor with a construction and trucking “business”. I had the supplies, he drove truck or train to deliver things to a zoo […]

Sunday, November 3 We always enjoy being invited to their birthday party – because we get to visit with Jakey and Crystal’s family. Crystal’s mom (left) is our sister-in-law (married to Cerwin’s brother). Jakey and Crystal (Peyton and Bailey’s parents) had a delicious variety of food for supper. Bailey and Peyton with their birthday cupcakes. […]

Saturday, November 2 Cerwin came home from the grocery store with a bouquet of flowers for me. He knows I like flowers in the house when the weather is cold outside. I teased him, “So what did you do wrong?” He smiled and said, “They are just in case I do something wrong.” 🙂 The […]

Bare Branches are in Style Again

Saturday Morning, November 2 As I watched another pretty sunrise a few days ago, I thought, “It looks like bare branches are in style again.” It appears that the squirrels have not yet captured all the shellbarks or hickory nuts. The morning reminded me of how much I enjoy living in an area of the […]

My husband, Cerwin, and I have four children, seventeen grandchildren (2 are in Heaven), and 19 great grandchildren. Cerwin spent 40 years as a truck driver for Ferrellgas. We are both retired from serving with Transport For Christ - a ministry to truck drivers - and love our life in rural Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
