Benny, is this you again – trying to get in with the big boys? And this time you brought a little friend.

Benny, is this you again – trying to get in with the big boys? And this time you brought a little friend.
A life frittered away disgusts God;
he loves those who run straight for the finish line.
Proverbs 15:9 (The Message)
Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart.

Hitting the Ball
Baseball Tournament, Saturday, April 14
As you look at many of these faces, you can tell everyone is doing their best and trying to hit the ball with all their strength! ![]()

Hey, Benny, how did you get in this lineup with the big boys?
Dedicate your lives to Christ as Lord.
Always be ready to defend your confidence in God when anyone asks you to explain it. However, make your defense with gentleness and respect.

Waiting for the Pitch

Waiting for the Pitch – I think those are the only words I need for this post.

I am happy to do your will, O my God.
Your teachings are deep within me.

Pitchers & Catchers
Baseball Tournament, Saturday, April 14

If I had known that I was going to post the photos in similar groupings, I would have made sure to take a photo of each pitcher and catcher.
However, I decided to do it this way after looking through the photos. Consequently I do not have a photo of each one who did the catching and pitching.

Jeff (left) pitched for Retro Red.
No, Cole does not have black teeth. That is a mouthpiece to protect his teeth.
You can tell the mouth piece is not very comfortable, because the guys take it out at every opportunity. Dustan was just practicing here, so did not have it in his mouth.
Derric wears a mask to protect his face and teeth. He has been hit in the face (eye/cheekbone and nose) at least twice in the past few years.
Though I cheer for all four teams, Red has a slight edge in my support as our grandsons Jordan and Nate play on this team. Maybe that is why I have more photos of Derric. ![]()

More baseball tomorrow night.

One final word, friends. We ask you—urge is more like it—that you keep on doing what we told you to do to please God, not in a dogged religious plod, but in a living, spirited dance.
1 Thessalonians 4:1 (The Message)

A friend posted this verse on FaceBook yesterday, which was perfect timing for me. Following my devotional time, I was doing a computer job that was taking a long time. My attitude was a bit of a “dogged plod.”
Just thinking about it changed my attitude to “dancing.” I entered the verse in my prayer journal so I will come upon it once a month. Oh how I want to live my life in a living, spirited dance.
