Amish Country

From the Air

Part I

A few weeks ago, we received an e-mail from our youngest daughter saying, “I love my job!”

Debs 1.jpg

She has her own layout and design business and was paid to do a photo shoot for a hot air balloon company.

Yesterday she e-mailed these pictures to us.  She does not have a blog, so I asked if I may “show them off” for her.

Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy.  Micah 7:18 NIV

 I’ve Been Tagged

~~~
Grab the book closest to you and turn to page 161.  Print the 5th complete sentence on your blog.  Then tag 5 others.
~~~

The closest book:  Sudoku by Will Shortz.

There is no page 161.

Next closest book:  It’s Not about Me by Max Lucado

Page 161 is a question/answer page, and for the fifth sentence to make sense, I need to give you the fourth…

Read Malachi 3:6.

A. What blanket statement does God make in this verse?

You are getting the 6th and 7th sentences as a bonus!

B. What application does God make in light of this truth?

C. How does God’s unchanging nature affect you?

~~~
You can all breathe easy, because I don’t tag people.
Banquet & Bluegrass
York.JPG
Last night I did something rather brave for me.  Because Cerwin is in West Virginia hunting, I drove to the Friendship Fire Hall, Spring Grove, PA, by myself – well I did have my stepmother and mother-in-law along – but I was responsible for navigating the fifty or so miles.
As you can see by the pictures, we did get there – even though following travel directions is not an area where I feel very confident.
I always enjoy the simple dessert served at this banquet – a dip of vanilla ice cream topped with chocolate syrup, a pretzel, and cherry.
Paul Schildt is the chapter chairman and was MC for the evening.
Set Free provided a fabulous bluegrass, gospel concert.
Following the first half of the concert, Sam Rittenhouse shared a PowerPoint update from his part of ministry service – Chaplain Care
York (9).JPG
I used a PowerPoint to update on what Cerwin has been doing in chapel construction this year – and what is planned for the near future.  Following that Howard Moses, Director of Chaplain Care, asked God’s blessing on the evening offering.
I was pleased that there was time for several more songs by Set Free.
Their songs made me miss Cerwin – as he is the one who introduced me to bluegrass music, when we began dating in 1961.
 Take a close look at this picture.
Make sure you know who is playing which instrument.
Saturday with Jenna
Je (1)
After waking, Jenna joined me (my seat is empty because I am taking the picture!) in watching the morning news, and enjoying a raspberry Toaster Strudel.
This was the day Cerwin and our sons, Jeff and Jere, left for a hunting trip to West Virginia, so it was fun having Jenna (Jeff & Chris’ daughter) here for the day.
Je
Je (2)
She loves to work in my office, especially making address corrections in TFC’s database.  She does a great job, and I rarely find mistakes when proofing her work.
Je (3)
Je (4)
After she finished the address changes from a recent mailing, she applied special labels to donation envelopes for  the evening banquet in Spring Grove, PA.
Je (5)
In the afternoon she relaxed in the children’s room, while I updated a PowerPoint presentation for the banquet.
I dropped her off at her other grandma before picking up my step-mother and mother-in-law and heading to the banquet with our trusty Magellan GPS unit.
We had a great evening.  I will update later today with pictures of the evening.
Watching a Video
Jared.JPG
Jared was here for a short time today while his dad and grandpa sighted in their guns.  The men leave on a WV hunting trip tomorrow.
Each time I checked on him, he was in a different position!
I wonder how many more positions he would have used had he stayed longer!
