Banquet & Bluegrass
Last night I did something rather brave for me. Because Cerwin is in West Virginia hunting, I drove to the Friendship Fire Hall, Spring Grove, PA, by myself – well I did have my stepmother and mother-in-law along – but I was responsible for navigating the fifty or so miles.
As you can see by the pictures, we did get there – even though following travel directions is not an area where I feel very confident.
I always enjoy the simple dessert served at this banquet – a dip of vanilla ice cream topped with chocolate syrup, a pretzel, and cherry.
Paul Schildt is the chapter chairman and was MC for the evening.
Set Free provided a fabulous bluegrass, gospel concert.
Following the first half of the concert, Sam Rittenhouse shared a PowerPoint update from his part of ministry service – Chaplain Care
I used a PowerPoint to update on what Cerwin has been doing in chapel construction this year – and what is planned for the near future. Following that Howard Moses, Director of Chaplain Care, asked God’s blessing on the evening offering.
I was pleased that there was time for several more songs by Set Free.
Their songs made me miss Cerwin – as he is the one who introduced me to bluegrass music, when we began dating in 1961.
Take a close look at this picture.
Make sure you know who is playing which instrument.
