 Katie had her own personal “fan person” – a brand new nephew.

He made sure she was cool during most of the receiving line, after noticing that she was trying to fan herself and greet guests.  That is a thoughtful young man.

This is what I got when I asked for a posed photo.

Update on Cerwin’s Surgery

&

Wedding of Vincent Ross & Kate Elizabeth

1a.JPG

First, an update on Cerwin – Monday, June 15.

He is doing very well, and began taking a daily walk to get some exercise.

1a (1).JPG

He has been sleeping in the Laz-E-Boy since his surgery on Thursday, but is getting tired of that, and tried getting in and out of bed this morning.  Because the test was successful, and the therapist and surgeon agreed he is ready for the change, he is going to try sleeping in bed tonight.

1a (2).JPG

His second therapy session went well this afternoon.  The therapist said he was pleased with Cerwin’s mobility.  Because I have to drive him to the therapist, and Curves is next door (same building), I am going to sign up there, and so something positive during the one hour wait.

1a (3).JPG

After the appointment with the therapist, we went to the surgeon for a followup visit.  The doctor had pictures of the tear, and explained how difficult it was to repair.  However, he was pleased with the results.

Vince & Katie’s Wedding

Saturday evening, June 13

1a (4).JPG

Me and my youngest brother Steve, the father of the bride.  Cerwin was not able to go to the wedding, so I took our granddaughter Lydia who is visiting from Maine.  (She was delighted to attend!)

Two of Vince’s nephews – giving out wedding programs

I didn’t use the flash during the ceremony, so they aren’t perfect pictures, but at least the family members who couldn’t attend can get a visual of the ceremony.

Katie presented the rose to her parents and hugged both sets of parents as well.  The pictures make it appear like she just stood in the aisle.  However these were the best photos.

Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you.

Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ—that’s where the action is.

See things from his perspective.

Update On Cerwin

 DSC_0020

Flowers from our granddaughter Elizabeth – a thank you gift for providing housing for her last weekend.

They add cheerfulness to our living room where Cerwin is recovering on his Laz-E-Boy.

~~~
He is doing quite well.  Even before the surgical narcotics wore off, and feeling began returning to his shoulder, he started using the prescribed pain killers.  We have learned how to keep ahead of the pain so he continues to be relatively pain free and comfortable.
I took him to his first therapy session yesterday where the large bandages and pain-drip were removed.  He was also given a series of hand and finger exercises that he must do every hour.
I was taught how to remove his arm from the sling and give him a repetition of elbow exercises about three times a day.
~~~

He asked the therapist if he will be able to go hunting in November.  (You can tell his biggest concern! )  She wrinkled up her nose and said, “Maybe.”  However, she assured him that archery is out for this year.
