God’s love is meteoric, his loyalty astronomic, His purpose titanic, his verdicts oceanic. Yet in his largeness nothing gets lost; Not a man, not a mouse, slips through the cracks.

Psalm 36:5-6 (The Message)

A Special Birthday for Kristen

She will be forty years old tomorrow.

Saturday, May 1

DSC_0001.JPG

This afternoon our granddaughter Jana (right) – and her friend Renee came to decorate the garage for our evening party.

DSC_0002.JPG

The crepe paper four was easy to make, but they couldn’t quite get the zero to do what they wanted, so I suggested they try making a rectangle.

DSC_0003.JPG

They liked that idea.

The gift table. Kristen saw the old sprinkling can at an antique shop this week and told Jere that she would like that – so he bought it for her today.

Our entrance door sign.

After a supper planned by Jere – chicken cordon bleu, gourmet potatoes, peas and carrots, dinner rolls, relish tray, broccoli salad, red beet eggs – we gathered for the opening of gifts.

Jere it leaving for a business trip tomorrow (her birthday) so suggested they go out for her birthday supper tonight. He just didn’t tell her where they were going.

Walking Through the Woodlot

Behind Our Property

Friday, April 23

1 (2).JPG

Our perennial flower bed in the woods area of our yard is green and lush.

1 (3).JPG

A tree stump, moss, and some greenery in the pavilion area – near my brother’s house.

1 (5).JPG

A neighboring farmer was planting corn across the road from my sister’s house.

I stopped to check on her, as she is recovering from a fairly serious cut on the back of her leg – just above the heel area. The ER doctor said she was blessed that the metal equipment didn’t cut her Achilles tendon.

1 (6).JPG

Beautiful cherry blossoms on one of their trees.

1 (1).JPG

The path between our house and my sisters hasn’t been trimmed yet this spring, but it was fairly easy to navigate.

1 (7).JPG

Mayapples cover most of the woods floor.

1 (13).JPG

Our lilac bush blooms later than many other lilacs in the area.

1 (14).JPG

I love the scent of lilacs.

1 (15).JPG

Tree foliage is young and still light green in color.

1 (16).JPG

1 (17).JPG

I was surprised to see this swallow pair at our bird house.

1 (18).JPG

At first I thought they were barn swallows, but my bird book tells me that barn swallows have an orange throat.

1 (19).JPG

I think they might be tree swallows.

1 (20).JPG

I love when I can capture a cardinal shot because they usually spot me before I can get a photo.
