God’s love is meteoric, his loyalty astronomic, His purpose titanic, his verdicts oceanic. Yet in his largeness nothing gets lost; Not a man, not a mouse, slips through the cracks.

Kristen’s Birthday Party
…gifts and the cake
Saturday Evening, May 1
A gift from Jesse
Jared presenting his gift
Ian giving her a gift
He had a second gift that included personal “I love you” notes and flowers he picked earlier in the day.
Nurses uniform from Jana
A Scooby Doo uniform from Josh
Jere and Kristen
Jere told her that she must hide her eyes as he presented the cake.
The cake was designed like a basket. (She is a Longaberger collector.)
Showing the cake to Jesse, Jared, and Ian who are being held by uncle Jeff.
There were name tags for each child, an incredibly cute fondant Jake (their dog), a nurses bag, and a stethoscope.
Jared wanted a picture with the cake.
The candle
A closeup of some flowers
Jake
Jesse eating his chocolate name tag
The cake was filled with raspberry mousse. It was fabulous.
A family picture
Jana said, “My mom is now halfway to eighty!”

May Jesus himself and God our Father, who reached out in love and surprised you with gifts of unending help and confidence, put a fresh heart in you, invigorate your work, enliven your speech.

A Special Birthday for Kristen
She will be forty years old tomorrow.
Saturday, May 1
This afternoon our granddaughter Jana (right) – and her friend Renee came to decorate the garage for our evening party.
The crepe paper four was easy to make, but they couldn’t quite get the zero to do what they wanted, so I suggested they try making a rectangle.
They liked that idea.
The gift table. Kristen saw the old sprinkling can at an antique shop this week and told Jere that she would like that – so he bought it for her today.
Our entrance door sign.
After a supper planned by Jere – chicken cordon bleu, gourmet potatoes, peas and carrots, dinner rolls, relish tray, broccoli salad, red beet eggs – we gathered for the opening of gifts.
Jere it leaving for a business trip tomorrow (her birthday) so suggested they go out for her birthday supper tonight. He just didn’t tell her where they were going.

Walking Through the Woodlot
Behind Our Property
Friday, April 23
Our perennial flower bed in the woods area of our yard is green and lush.
A tree stump, moss, and some greenery in the pavilion area – near my brother’s house.
A neighboring farmer was planting corn across the road from my sister’s house.
I stopped to check on her, as she is recovering from a fairly serious cut on the back of her leg – just above the heel area. The ER doctor said she was blessed that the metal equipment didn’t cut her Achilles tendon.
Beautiful cherry blossoms on one of their trees.
The path between our house and my sisters hasn’t been trimmed yet this spring, but it was fairly easy to navigate.
Mayapples cover most of the woods floor.
Our lilac bush blooms later than many other lilacs in the area.
I love the scent of lilacs.
Tree foliage is young and still light green in color.
I was surprised to see this swallow pair at our bird house.
At first I thought they were barn swallows, but my bird book tells me that barn swallows have an orange throat.
I think they might be tree swallows.
I love when I can capture a cardinal shot because they usually spot me before I can get a photo.
