Walking Through the Woodlot
Behind Our Property
Friday, April 23
Our perennial flower bed in the woods area of our yard is green and lush.
A tree stump, moss, and some greenery in the pavilion area – near my brother’s house.
A neighboring farmer was planting corn across the road from my sister’s house.
I stopped to check on her, as she is recovering from a fairly serious cut on the back of her leg – just above the heel area. The ER doctor said she was blessed that the metal equipment didn’t cut her Achilles tendon.
Beautiful cherry blossoms on one of their trees.
The path between our house and my sisters hasn’t been trimmed yet this spring, but it was fairly easy to navigate.
Mayapples cover most of the woods floor.
Our lilac bush blooms later than many other lilacs in the area.
I love the scent of lilacs.
Tree foliage is young and still light green in color.
I was surprised to see this swallow pair at our bird house.
At first I thought they were barn swallows, but my bird book tells me that barn swallows have an orange throat.
I think they might be tree swallows.
I love when I can capture a cardinal shot because they usually spot me before I can get a photo.
