A Wren and a Twig
I smiled as I watched this wren try to get a twig into the birdhouse today.
When it dropped, it flew to the ground and picked it up again.
Sometimes it just made a lot of noise when the twig dropped…
…and then pick it up again.
I couldn’t believe how long it worked at getting one twig through the hole.
Does the term “birdbrain” come from situations like this?
Finally, quite by accident, it got the twig inside and was ready to try again. I watched for several minutes and it did the same thing with two more twigs.

Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down.

Panera Bread
For Kristen’s Birthday
Monday, May 3
Chris (right) suggested that it would be fun to have a girls’ night out for Kristen’s birthday. We loved the idea and asked Kristen (second from right) to choose a place in the Lancaster area – a central area for us and Deb (second from left). Her choice was Panera Bread.
If you have not yet figured out our family, Deb is our daughter, and Kristen and Chris are daughters-in-law.

Kristen’s soup and sandwich
I didn’t realize that I hadn’t taken a photo of my meal. I had a sandwich like Deb’s without the soup. If you go back to the first picture, you can see that Deb and I had a mango smoothie, Kristen enjoyed a red punch, and Chris chose water.
We had a fabulous time – and talked for more that two hours! I think we will do this again for Deb and Chris’ birthday’s later in the year.
Change your life, not just your clothes. Come back to God, your God. And here’s why: God is kind and merciful.

Guess Who’s Coming For Dinner
Sunday, May 2
Yesterday was our church’s “Guess Who’s Coming For Dinner” Sunday.
That means those who wish to participate offer to be a host or guest. Cerwin and I signed up to be hosts this year and said that we could serve sixteen people. We were given fifteen guests. It’s fun planning for guests and not know who is coming.
Our guests were two single ladies – Anna and Barbara, and two families – Keith and Janelle, and their seven children; Randy and Tina, and their two sons.
We had a great afternoon. While the children played games and watched a video, the adults visited and got to know each other better.
I decorated with lilacs and lily of the valley.
God’s love is meteoric, his loyalty astronomic, His purpose titanic, his verdicts oceanic. Yet in his largeness nothing gets lost; Not a man, not a mouse, slips through the cracks.
