A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength.

I want to be good medicine today – for myself and for others.

Let the mighty strength of the Lord make you strong.
Ephesians 6:10 (Contemporary English Version)

Lord, I praise You that I have access to every piece of spiritual body armor you provide – belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, shoes of peace, shield of faith, helmet of salvation, sword of the Spirit – giving me the power to stand up to anything Satan throws my way today.
Part 2 – A Walk-Around Outside

After sitting at the craft and quilt auction for awhile, I decided to go outside and give you a tour of the grounds which was full of tents
There was an auction going on underneath each one.
Inside the furniture tent

That’s where I want to be today – surrendered, submitted, and allowing Him to work His will in my life.
Part 1
Penryn Mud Sale
A photo shoot assignment from our daughter for next year’s Mud Sale Magazine. Deb is on vacation and could not be there.
Saturday, March 19
Mud sales are popular in our area in late winter and spring, and raise funds for Amish schools and fire companies. They are called mud sales because it is often muddy this time of year. You can find one somewhere almost every Saturday in March and April. (There were four on Saturday.) There are a variety of others between May and October.
A sign at the crossroad in our small village and the back of someone’s T-shirt.
After parking at our niece’s nearby house, I walked across the field behind the fire hall and saw some of the equipment that was for sale.
When I saw this Amish bench wagon, I decided to look inside. I often see these when benches are moved from one Amish home to another for church. I don’t know if this was for sale or if it was used to transport benches for inside some of the tents. I think probably the later.
I was amazed at the organization for storing the benches.
Benches are numbered and have there own section for storage.
A nice pony cart. I can tell that these are not for Amish use because they have rubber tires.
An even fancier one.
It was cold and windy so I quickly headed to the main auction inside the fire hall, but first went by the food stands.

My view when I entered the fire hall where the main auction was beginning.
My sister reserved a front row seat for me (green chair in front of the auctioneer). Nancy is visiting with her daughter Karen (pink sweat shirt). Karen’s husband is a fire fighter at this location, the reason we can get good seats. ![]()
My view of the auctioneers.
Some of the craft items for sale.
Another thing you notice in the fire hall is all the firemen’s equipment.

A view from the top of the steps. Notice the firemen’s equipment lining the left and back walls.
More tomorrow night.
The prayer of a person living right with God is something powerful to be reckoned with.

Our Amazing Moon
Last Night & This Morning
It seemed larger last night, and the sky was clear.
This morning the sky was cloudy, making it more difficult to photograph.
What Shall We Do
Now That the Boys Have Gone Home?
Saturday, March 19
Everyone was talking about the moon this morning, but for us it was hidden behind clouds, so I had to settle for a beautiful sunrise.
Josh was overseer of the house and his little brothers for a few hours this morning while we went to the Penryn Mud Sale (photos beginning tomorrow evening). When I got home the boys were anxious to play outside. Their favorite spot is under one of our pine trees where they have a God-made sandbox.
Then they gathered nuts that the squirrels missed. They thought if they filled the containers it would be easier for the squirrels to find the nuts.
It was cold and windy so they soon came inside and wanted lunch on the windowsill so they could watch for squirrels.
Grandson Nate talking to Josh. Josh just has a driver’s permit, so has to settle for sitting in his car until an adult (or he) needs to go somewhere.

Ian had to wait for lunch until grandpa got home from the grocery store. He wanted to make buttered noodles, and I was out of butter.
Ian stirred the noodles while Jared kept an eye on the browning butter.
After lunch grandpa mentioned that he was going to wash the CRV and van, so the boys wanted to go outside again. They were not real pleased that their parents came home about that time. Jere and Kristen had a few other stops to make, so left them here to help grandpa with the cars.
Our gifts from New Orleans. The creamy pralines are beyond fabulous, and we’re each drinking a cup of delicious coffee right now. Thanks, Jere and Kristen.

It sure is quiet here. I just heard a sound from somewhere in the house and thought it was one of the little boys calling me, then remembered that the house is empty.
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.
Psalm 19:14 (New Living Translation)
