What Shall We Do
Now That the Boys Have Gone Home?
Saturday, March 19
Everyone was talking about the moon this morning, but for us it was hidden behind clouds, so I had to settle for a beautiful sunrise.
Josh was overseer of the house and his little brothers for a few hours this morning while we went to the Penryn Mud Sale (photos beginning tomorrow evening). When I got home the boys were anxious to play outside. Their favorite spot is under one of our pine trees where they have a God-made sandbox.
Then they gathered nuts that the squirrels missed. They thought if they filled the containers it would be easier for the squirrels to find the nuts.
It was cold and windy so they soon came inside and wanted lunch on the windowsill so they could watch for squirrels.
Grandson Nate talking to Josh. Josh just has a driver’s permit, so has to settle for sitting in his car until an adult (or he) needs to go somewhere.

Ian had to wait for lunch until grandpa got home from the grocery store. He wanted to make buttered noodles, and I was out of butter.
Ian stirred the noodles while Jared kept an eye on the browning butter.
After lunch grandpa mentioned that he was going to wash the CRV and van, so the boys wanted to go outside again. They were not real pleased that their parents came home about that time. Jere and Kristen had a few other stops to make, so left them here to help grandpa with the cars.
Our gifts from New Orleans. The creamy pralines are beyond fabulous, and we’re each drinking a cup of delicious coffee right now. Thanks, Jere and Kristen.

It sure is quiet here. I just heard a sound from somewhere in the house and thought it was one of the little boys calling me, then remembered that the house is empty.
