A Spring Music Festival
Our Local Middle School
Thursday, April 28
We went to this concert because our granddaughter Jana was singing in the choir.
The band under the direction of Mr. Metzger performed the opening songs.
I enclosed this photo for a friend who may enjoy seeing her daughter.
Two other daughters of friends for their viewing pleasure.

We also enjoyed watching our niece’s son Andrew (arrow) singing.

Thanks for inviting us. We were amazed at the talent of these middle school students.
Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ.

Painting the Garage
Wednesday, April 27 to Saturday, April 30
One of Cerwin’s first jobs was to remove this shelf and fill in areas where something – or someone – made a dent or hole in the wall.
We have been talking about painting the garage walls and floor for the past few years – and we finally did it.
We removed the old lights before painting the ceiling.
The trap door with a rope (foreground) is our entrance to the attic.
We changed the ceiling and wall color from light blue to ivory.
I did the trimming and painted areas where the roller did not fit.
By Saturday morning we were ready to paint the floor.
Painting the floor was long overdue.
Look at the difference. Everything looks so clean.
We also installed new light fixtures.
My favorite new thing is that Cerwin used paneling to make doors for what was open shelves where he stores all kind of things – electric cords, jumper cables, things for cleaning and waxing our cars, plus buckets. It is also where we keep quoits, horseshoes, and bocce for the pavilion area. (You can see a bit of it on the second photo – on the right.)
When we get everything back where it belongs, I want to clean the carpet in the back room – hopefully this week.
My response is to get down on my knees before the Father, this magnificent Father who parcels out all heaven and earth.
I ask him to strengthen you by his Spirit—not a brute strength but a glorious inner strength—that Christ will live in you as you open the door and invite him in.

The Girls
A Cowbird at Our Window
Monday, April 25
These three stayed overnight after our Easter lunch. Jenna also slept here, but was at a youth activity most of the evening.
The late afternoon was warm and rainy – which they loved.
Gloria, Diana, and Jana
Later they played foursquare in the room behind our garage.
They changed into pajamas because their clothing was wet.
The next morning Jana and Diana asked me to take a picture of them feeding each other whipped cream.
Silly girls.
I was surprised when I walked into the kitchen and saw this female brown-headed cowbird pecking at the window.
The colors in the back are tulips in our yard.
It was fun having the girls here as we cleaned up from the day before.
Receive and experience the amazing grace of the Master, Jesus Christ, deep, deep within yourselves.

Our Easter Celebration
Sunday, April 24
The sign I made for our entrance door
The red gerbera daisy was a gift, I won the white begonia as a door prize at the York banquet, and I purchased the other flower at a local greenhouse.
I brought the tulips and cherry blossoms in from our yard.
This Easter dinner was a rather last minute meal when someone discovered that none of us were doing anything for lunch.
Everyone brought something, creating a delicious meal of ham, scalloped potatoes, green beans, dinner rolls, some relishes, salad, Easter egg candy, tapioca, and cracker pudding.
I forgot to take many pictures, and was glad that Deb took some.
Those of you who know our family, may not recognize the two extra men. Mel (center) is a brother-in-law to Mary Jane (left), Jeff & Chris’ adopted mother. Mel is a widower. He had been married to Mary Jane’s sister. Mel, Jr. is on the right. We enjoyed learning to know them, and hope they will come again.
Dessert was a raspberry swirl birthday cake for Cerwin and a pineapple angel food cake – as well as fresh raspberries and pineapples and whipped cream.

It was a great afternoon of visiting.
God’s Way is not a matter of mere talk; it’s an empowered life.
