Walking With Hannah, Ian, Jared, and Jesse
Tuesday to Thursday, July 5-7
One the the things we did each morning and evening while the three little boys were here was walk to the farm.
When the heifers saw us, they kicked up some dust as they came running.
Having fun making evening shadows.
They boys didn’t let us get by the heifers without sitting and watching them for awhile.
They loved feeding them grass.
On the way home they often picked wild flowers.
Each was pleased with his bouquet.
The next morning we did it all over again. By now they were into finding rocks and stones.

They soon learned that Queen Anne’s Lace is my favorite wild flower.
Heading home
Ready to go for an evening walk.
Partway through our walk Jared discovered he was wearing two different shoes. 
Throwing stones into the swampy pond.
Jared has a shirt full of stones while Jesse and Ian are satisfied with one special stone. Ian found one that looked like it had been in a rock tumbler because it was smooth and shiny.
They are anxious to see the heifers again.
When Ian saw his great aunt Brenda (who lives at the farm), he wanted to show her his special stone. She and my brother Steve have several young women (and a young family) living with them who need a place to live due to some kind of struggle. The childen in the pool belong to the young women who live in the house.
The moon is already high in the sky.
When older cousin Nathan came by – heading to our house – he challenged the boys to keep up with him as we were almost home. They had lots of fun. At this point he was barely moving because Jesse was running beside him.
The setting sun gave us a beautiful sky.
The next morning – before our walk – these four cut some mint tea.
We took the stone, field road to the barn – to Jesse’s delight – because he liked checking out the manure pit.
