A Week Full of Variety

~ Monday, September 19 to Friday September 23 ~

1 Monday (1)

CTS (Candidate Training School) Monday Afternoon

Jane Evans doing her part in training new staff at TFC’s International Office on communicating with the media.

1 Monday (2)

Inge and I followed Jane with our part in training them on communicating with newsletters.

Inge helps them with their first mailing (prayer cards, letters, and brochures) and I help them set up and mail all future newsletters and event flyers.

There are many other training sessions during the week by other directors.

1 Monday (3)

Out with the old.

When I got home from the office, the guys put our old “man cave” couch on the burn pile. This couch was in fairly bad shape before our grandsons and their friends began hanging out here about a year ago, so it was time for a new one.

1 Monday (4)

Cerwin, Josh, and Joram removing the new couch from the pickup truck. Joram is a friend of our grandsons and spends as much time in the man cave as they do.

1 Monday (5)

They love the new couch.

2 Tues

The crew who is harvesting corn were busy during the night on Monday, because the fields were bare when we woke up Tuesday morning.

2a tues

This is when I go into special prayer mode for those who are packing down the silage by driving tractor in the bunks. The danger (at least in my eyes) is when the silage is higher than the bunk – and the job must be done for hours on end, even during the night.

3 (4)

Tuesday was my morning to take Jesse to prekindergarten, as his mom is recovering from surgery. In this photo we were waiting in line to drop him off at the door. He was in the back seat with his window down and seatbelt undone – telling me that he could see me in the mirror. Of course I could see him too.

4 thurs

By Thursday morning this bunk was full of corn silage, covered with plastic and sidewalls (half tires).

5 fri (1)

On Friday morning we woke up to heavy fog.

5 fri (2)

I think fog creates a peaceful atmosphere in the country.

May the glory of the Lord continue forever! The Lord takes pleasure in all he has made!

Psalm 104:31 (New Living Translation)

~~~
He is our Messiah, our Savior and our King
Let all our voices join as one
And fill the earth with singing
Glory to our God.
Live in love as Christ also loved us. He gave his life for us as an offering and sacrifice, a soothing aroma to God.
Ephesians 5:2 (GOD’S WORD Translation)
~~~

Love is: affection, tenderness, warmth, passion, adoration, devotion, loyalty.

Living in oposition to any synonym of love  is not a soothing aroma to God.

The port-a-john that was brought in for the day was the most beautifully landscaped one I have ever seen!

I understand that Grandma Shelly was responsible for this beauty.

The drivers enjoyed the provided juice, cookies and hot dogs as they visited.

Truck Show at Jason’s Shop

~ Part 2 ~

Saturday, September 17

2nd (1)

Cerwin liked this pickup truck, and asked me to take pictures. I handed the camera to him so he could get every angle he wanted. I don’t always see what interests a man in something like this.

~~ Truck Show At Jason’s Shop ~~

Telford, Pennsylvania

Saturday, September 17 ~ Part 1 of 4

1st (1)

We had the honor of staying with Jason (right) and his family overnight – following the banquet the night before. In this photo Jason and a friend are busy getting ready for the 2:00 p.m. truck show.

1st (2)

About an hour later Renita had possession of the “mule” and took eight children for a ride.

1st (3)

Their sons Bryce and Brandt enjoying pizza for lunch. Brandt wanted to pose with a potato chip “french fry” in his mouth.

1st (4)

Bryce was struggling with a allergic reaction to something – the reason for the red skin around his eyes. He had just come home from the doctor who ordered a prescription.

1st (5)

Brandt kept the french fry in his mouth for this shot as well.

1st (6)

Their daughter Brooklyn was my guide when we walked from their house to the shop where the truck show would be held. The shop is on the other side of the grey barn.

1st (7)

1st (8)

This driver was one of the first to arrive, and is doing a final polish on his truck.

1st (9)

Do you see the truck stacks in this lettering. I thought that was quite creative.

1st (10)

Cerwin went to the location of last night’s banquet early on Saturday morning, and brought the chapel to the shop. He and Jason wanted to make sure he had access to this parking spot before other trucks arrived.

1st (11)

Set up and ready for visitors.

1st (12)

Brooklyn watching some of the activities.

1st (13)

Harry and Jodi Sensenig  who are coaches for Take Shape For Life here had a display in the shop. They are partners with Transport For Christ, and offer truckers (or anyone) a healthy way to live. The thing that got my attention was the five-pound blob of “plastic” fat (left). I wouldn’t have wanted to carry that around all day.

1st (14)

My friend Penny wanted to pose with them.
