“Life” Verse
I challenge you to search for a Bible verse that seems to have been written just for you – one that encourages, challenges, and ministers to you.
Then keep it in your face – someplace where you see it every day.
~~~
I found my “life” verse many years ago, after a Bible teacher challenged us to find a verse or part of a verse that began with the first letter of our name, maybe even one that includes all the letters of our name.
Now you know why this is my blog heading.
“Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.” Psalm 37:4
This verse is a continual reminder: If I am expecting the Lord to grant a desire of my heart, it is my responsibility to delight in Him, and never let the enemy destroy my joy.
When I was young, I chose several verses, before settling on this one that was just right for me and my personality.
“Year” Verse
In recent years, I have also chosen a “Year” verse or verses from the Psalm of my age.
This is my 63rd year, so I went to Psalm 63 for a verse to keep in my face throughout 2007
I chose two verses from the CEV version of the Bible.
Your love means more than life to me, and I praise you. Vs. 3
I stay close to you and your powerful arm supports me. Vs. 8
“Birth Day” Verse
I also have a “birth day” verse.
I was born on February 8, consequently I looked through Psalm 8 for this verse.
“O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth.”
Psalm 8: 1 & 9 NIV
