Methinks Mamma Starlings Don’t Teach Their Babies to Share
It’s not often that starlings share the same birdfeeder. The first one at the feeder scolds any other bird who attempts to get close. It was fun catching this wing span as the two birds were fighting over the suet.
If Birds Could Talk
Prosperity is not always good. Adversity is not always bad. Pray for people you dislike. Pray for people who dislike you. Develop your vocabulary, but don’t overuse fancy words. Learn to laugh at yourself. If you can’t afford it, you don’t need it. Keep your promises. Meet your deadlines. Honor your commitments. Pay your bills. […]
Start Your Day Correctly
It’s like buttoning up a jacket. If you don’t match the first button with the correct button hole, it won’t turn out correctly. Start your day by giving the next 24 hours to God and asking Him for wisdom and strength. “Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put […]

I Felt Blessed On the Day of My Birth
Monday, February 8 There was a card and whoopie pie on our counter when I woke up at 5:30 am – a gift from Jere and Kristen’s family. I expect that Jere dropped it off on his way to work. Dale (my oldest brother-but younger than me) and Dot stopped in just before 9:00 am […]
This is How My Birthday Week Started
Thursday, February 4 Cerwin came home from the grocery store with two beautiful bouquets of flowers. He and I enjoy roses, but since they can be rather short-lived, he also bought some daisies that he thought would survive longer. π Friday, February 5 We took a mailing to the post office, went to Village Market […]
Taste and See – Ladies Brunch

We have some very creative ladies in our church fellowship. I went early to get a few shots of the fellowship hall and the pretty table decorations. […]
Blame
Blame has been going on since the beginning of time. Adam blamed Eve. Eve blamed the serpent. It continued throughout the Bible. It continued through the ages. It continues today. Is it Godβs fault when His children make a bad choice – when God made it clear in His Word that certain things are bad […]
Dawn
Sometimes I wake up before dawn. I love sitting up in the middle of the bed with the lights off, pitch-black dark, and talking to the Father, with no interruptions and nothing that reminds me that there’s anything in life but me and Him. Charles R. Swindoll Always watch the sunrise with an open heart. […]

Never Give Someone Else the Responsibility for Your Happiness
Peace and contentment come from your relationship with God, not your relationship β or lack thereof β with other people. I am listening to the Bible online and having just finished the story of the Children of Israel leaving Egypt, I was reminded that people are the same – everywhere and through every time era. […]
Wisdom with a View from Our Window
Meet the Lord every morning. Have a passion for God and compassion for people. Choose the way of most persistence rather than the path of least resistance. Friendships can fade. Family is forever. What happens in you is more important than what happens to you. Seek out quiet people. They have a lot to say […]
Some of My Favorite Snow Photos from the Last Two Days
Monday, February 1 and Tuesday, February 2 During the height of the storm we could barely see the farm. Looking toward the neighbor’s house behind us. Junco Dove Monday seemed like a good day to bake cinnamon rolls – out of a package. π Junco on a shepherd’s hook In the dipper part of our […]
