Taking TFC’s International Chapel #1
To Manheim Brethren in Christ Church
Sunday, July 22
The purpose of this day is to teach the children about local mission work.
Gene Gehman is sharing a bit about his dreams (and fears) about mission work when he was a child. His wife, Rose is in the foreground in the pink and white shirt.
He told how God gives him opportunity to share Christ with those he meets as he drives truck across the country, and the times he was able to haul the sound equipment for Rebecca St. James and The Barlow Girls. He then introduced Cerwin who shared a few comments and PowerPoint pictures about the ministry of Transport For Christ.
After leaving the chapel, the children had opportunity to see inside the trucks that were in the church parking lot.
A shot through the chapel window.
It was fun seeing all the trucks the drivers brought this year.
The children love getting inside the trucks and blowing the air horns.
They also liked blowing the horns in the antique trucks – which have very unique sounds.
Tomorrow evenings post will be from the truck drivers picnic following the morning worship service inside the church.
Pursue what God approves of:
a godly life, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness.

The Last Post On…
Cousins’ Days at Our House
July 17-21
When Jared saw this front end loader, he asked if he could climb up into the seat. The German Shepherd lay down like he wanted to be in the picture as well.
This was how we went to see the pigs at the next farm.
After I got in, Sam put the other bale (our step) on the truck and closed the tail gate – encase you were concerned about that. ![]()
The dogs stayed close behind.
These pigs are raised in a natural setting which means they can be sold as organic.
Nellie watched us from the barn floor above.
Notice that Jenna (left) has now joined the other six, and was here until Saturday noon.
They had a lot of fun putting the finishing touches on their crafts.
I did not get a finished photo of Jenna’s bottle, but she wrote ‘love’ on it with hot glue, then painted the entire bottle red. It was so pretty.
These two were so funny with their crazy straws. In this photo Jana was saying, “Oh, yuck, I am drinking iced tea.”
Then they tried blowing bubbles.
Jesse finishing his bird feeder.
Oh, what a fun three-and-a-half days. Love you guys!
Be alert,
because you don’t know on what day your Lord will return.

Part Four of Five
Cousins’ Days at Our House
July 17-21
The first part of our day on Tursday was visiting DAZY’s Bakery – which is about two miles from our house.
DAZY’s means Double A Zuck – and the Y just fit. ![]()
Meet the two owners, Adrielle and Abigail Zuck.
You may recognize Abigail as our married granddaughter. Adrielle is her sister-in-law (Nathaniel’s sister).
I love everything they bake, but this ham roll is my favorite.
Their bread is yummy.
They have only been open a few weeks, and seem to be doing quite well.
The dinner rolls are perfect for any meal.
~~~
They also make cookies and sticky buns, but for some reason, I do not have a picture of either one – maybe they didn’t have any ready yet. We were there a few hours before they opened. But I do have some sticky buns in my freezer…
Coconut-topped – my favorite.
Walnut-topped are Cerwin’s favorite.
After the bakery, we went to the barn – on the same property. What do you think Diana is showing Jesse?
Isn’t that a beautiful tank of milk?
Then we went to see a new calf.
They are always a favorite of our grandchildren.
Preparing to go up the narrow barn steps.
Ben (white shirt) warned us not to fall down the hay hole – so everyone wanted to see where it was. ![]()
After getting back to ground level, we and the dogs went to visit the goats.
The children wanted to play on the goat’s seesaw.
A pretty sunflower in the Zuck’s garden.
Ben and Sam tell us about the calves in this pen.
Sam showed us the pigeons he feeds.
I have a thing for cows. I guess it’s because I grew up on a dairy farm.
Ian, Jared, and Jesse asked about the “stuff” in the long white tubes.
Ben told them it was feed for the cows.
Notice that Sam is holding an ear of corn.
That is what he is feeding this goat.
Love their long ears.
Tomorrow night – the last photos from Cousins’ Days.
Wherever you go, he is watching.
Part Three of Five
Cousins’ Days at Our House
July 17-21
Jesse painting his box.
Jared using gold duct tape to decorate a bottle.
Ian painting one of his pottery creatures.
Gloria decorating her flower pot.
Diana and Jana chose a tie dying kit and t-shirts when we were at A.C. Moore.
Jesse adding glitter glue to his birdhouse.
Glitter glue turned out to be a fun thing for Jesse. It added pizzazz to his things, and he could spread it around with his fingers.
Don’t you love that face?
He is displaying his stones after they spent a day in the rock tumbler. (We bought the tumbler for cousins’ days last year.)
Then it was time to work. I had almost 3,000 TFC Highway News and Good News to label.
Jared helped by cutting the straps that bound each pack of 100 magazines and delivering them to the one who needed a new stack.
Gloria
Jana
Me putting a finished set of labeled and bundeled magazines in a mailing bag. When we were finished there were twelve mailing bags. Diana helped too, but was the one taking these pictures.
Then it was “wet time”.
This was the best $6.00 I ever spent. It was just a small hop scotch water game that thrilled these six on a hot afternoon.
Every time you jumped on a square, it sprayed water.
When it was time to quit, I gave each one a bucket of warm water (the hop scotch water was straight from the hose, and very cold).
Then it was count down – 1, 2, 3 – throw your bucket of water on the person to your left.
So ended Wednesday’s photos.
I forgot to take suppertime pictures. Bed time was early – maybe 8:00 – when the boys watched a video in their garage bedroom, while relaxing on sleeping bags.
The girls watched a video in the man cave, then went to their basement (my office) bedroom to sleep on their air mattresses.
Thursday Morning: Jana made french toast…
…after Jesse dipped the bread in the egg and cinnamon mixture.
~~~
Tomorrow Night: Visiting a small bakery and touring another neighboring farm.
