Tonight We Went Back to See

Because of the ice storm last Thursday, our two granddaughter’s concerts were postponed – making it possible for Cerwin and me to see tonight’s concert where Jana was playing a piano solo.

She is dressed as an angel for the third grade song, Mary, Did You Know.

Ice & A Christmas Dinner

We woke up to beautiful, icy scenery this morning.

By the time church was over, the roads were wet, but many trees were still covered with ice.

We arrived at Midway Reception Center for a family Christmas dinner a bit early…

…so I had time to take a picture of the ice-covered tree near the entrance door.

We had delicious food, and a great time visiting with Cerwin’s aunts, uncles, cousins, and their families.  I think there were about a hundred in attendance.

Jana, Josh, and Ian are pretty happy about getting their picture taken, but Jared is not happy at all – and I am tired of looking at Grandma’s camera.

By the time we headed home, the sun was out and the ice was beginning to melt from the trees.

Christmas Prayer Breakfast

Each December the Bucks-Montgomery Chapter of TFC schedules a special Christmas prayer breakfast.

We always look forward to seeing these friends at Henning’s Market, Harleysville, PA.  This is a fabulous grocery store with a beautiful terrace (eating/meeting area) that overlooks the store.

The store hosts a large, delicious buffet every day, but on occasions like this, they bring a special-ordered buffet to The Terrace. 

This was only a small portion of the food – there was also fruit, donuts, bagels, biscuits, juice, coffee, etc.

We enjoyed special music by Hank Druneburg (left) and Bruce Burgess – great musicians.

Dale Kreider, a young Christian truck driver, shared an encouraging testimony of God’s goodness and faithfulness.  He was recently released from jail – after three years and three months – due to a truck accident in Virginia.
