Parade of Trucks ~ Leaving the Fairgrounds
The trucks left the fairgrounds at 11:00 a.m. sharp.
I would enjoy showing you all 232 trucks. However, I will just choose a few.
I’m just about to get my picture taken by our TFC friend, Bunny O’Hare.
A Peterbilt motorhome.
The next few trucks don’t appear to be eco friendly. However, I’m old enough to enjoy seeing a bit of black smoke. ![]()
About one hour later, the leader of the parade – the chapel – met one of the last trucks leaving the grounds.

Preparing for the Parade of Trucks
Trucks continued to roll into the fairgrounds right up to 11:00 a.m. – the time for the Parade of Trucks.
While trucks were arriving and drivers were registering, the CDL Roadeo committee and helpers were busy setting up the competition course. This year the truck of choice was a BRT tanker.
More trucks
Father and son team – Joe (right) and Corby (left) represented Dutch Valley Food Distributors.
There were new trucks – dealers from most makes of trucks…
…and antiques.
Then it was time to line up to exit the grounds. Bobtails and straight trucks prepared to leave the east driveway.
At the west driveway, a few trucks were still entering as the chapel prepared to lead the parade.

First Part of the Day – 6:00 a.m. until 8:30 a.m.
Prayer for the days activities.
The day began with a 6:00 a.m. breakfast for the Truck Rally committee and many of the key day-workers – at least those who like (or need) to get up early. I reserved for forty people, and think there were thirty-eight.
A few years ago we counted volunteers and came up with something like 230 so this is only a small sampling of those who help make the day successful.
This year our breakfast consisted of eggs, ham, toast, drink, and danish pastry.
While making sure committee members had name tags, cash boxes were delivered to the proper people, and vendors had everything they needed, I noticed that Wolfpak was already arriving!
They make an impressive row of trucks when their fleet arrives.
Drivers receives a paper that gives them information for registration.
John is one of the faithful day volunteers. In the morning he hands out information papers to drivers as they enter the grounds.
Wolfpak lines up their eighteen trucks according to color. They won the award for the largest fleet.
This vendor is preparing a truck for advertising aluminum polish.
Inside West Hall where vendors were finalizing their setup, I came to the TFC table just as Bunny O’Hare (Director of Recruitment & Promotions) was introducing Chaplain Jake Wise (left) to a prospective chaplain candidate.
Special thanks to Jake for driving the chapel in this years rally – as Cerwin is not able to shift gears due to shoulder surgery.
In the foreground is a craft vendor, and behind them Matt and Theresa set up their space. He sells truck wash and polish, and she is a consultant for Longaberger baskets.
Clair and Mildred set up a beautiful balloon area.
Most vendors are ready for the day by 9:00 a.m.
Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
