Truck Rally
Saturday, June 27
First Part of the Day – 6:00 a.m. until 8:30 a.m.
Prayer for the days activities.
The day began with a 6:00 a.m. breakfast for the Truck Rally committee and many of the key day-workers – at least those who like (or need) to get up early. I reserved for forty people, and think there were thirty-eight.
A few years ago we counted volunteers and came up with something like 230 so this is only a small sampling of those who help make the day successful.
This year our breakfast consisted of eggs, ham, toast, drink, and danish pastry.
While making sure committee members had name tags, cash boxes were delivered to the proper people, and vendors had everything they needed, I noticed that Wolfpak was already arriving!
They make an impressive row of trucks when their fleet arrives.
Drivers receives a paper that gives them information for registration.
John is one of the faithful day volunteers. In the morning he hands out information papers to drivers as they enter the grounds.
Wolfpak lines up their eighteen trucks according to color. They won the award for the largest fleet.
This vendor is preparing a truck for advertising aluminum polish.
Inside West Hall where vendors were finalizing their setup, I came to the TFC table just as Bunny O’Hare (Director of Recruitment & Promotions) was introducing Chaplain Jake Wise (left) to a prospective chaplain candidate.
Special thanks to Jake for driving the chapel in this years rally – as Cerwin is not able to shift gears due to shoulder surgery.
In the foreground is a craft vendor, and behind them Matt and Theresa set up their space. He sells truck wash and polish, and she is a consultant for Longaberger baskets.
Clair and Mildred set up a beautiful balloon area.
Most vendors are ready for the day by 9:00 a.m.
