Preparing For the Wedding

Back to the Beginning

Friday Morning, February 19

 The scene as we left Dawson and Hope’s driveway on Friday morning. They are neighbors to Bob and Doris – and the home where we stayed for four nights.

This photo was taken through the pickup truck window, after turning left and heading toward Bob and Doris’ home. We have the use of their car or truck during the wedding weekend.

Outside Bob & Doris’ living room window. The beauty on the trees is not snow, but hoarfrost.

 After going to Japheth and Aimee’s house to prepare the bed and guest room for Gary and Joy Butikofer, Lynne walked to grandpa and grandma’s with me. Bob and Doris’ house is in the background.

 I think throwing packing bags at each other was a stress-reliever, as the wedding is now only a day away.

(Updated in Detroit and Minneapolis – scroll to end of post.)

Sometimes You Have a Feeling That It’s Going to Be a Good Day!

We just arrived at Harrisburg Airport and are now situated at our gate.

Because we have Cerwin’s ninety-two-year-old mother with us, a thoughtful attendant in the ticket area asked if we would like a wheelchair for her. “That would be nice we replied.” We have a wheelchair waiting in Detroit and Minneapolis, but didn’t think of it here.

Because of her wheelchair, we went to the front of the security line.  We may consider taking her with us on every flight.

When I booked the flights, I had a choice of going through Cincinnati or Detroit. For “some reason” I chose Detroit. Detroit is on time. Cincinnati is delayed. A delay for a first of three flights can pretty much mess up a day’s flight schedule.

My heart is singing “His” praises this morning.

If I don’t post on a regular basis (or at all) for the next week, it is because I don’t have access to the Internet.

Update: Harrisburg to Detroit

 DSC_0005.JPG

Cerwin’s mother was sitting across the aisle from us. I didn’t want to use the flash – the reason it is a bit shadowy.

Delicious cookies served on our flight.

Land designs from the sky

DSC_0012.JPG

We are usually on the ground looking for designs and shapes in the clouds. Now we are in the sky looking down. I thought this land design looked like a rabbit.

DSC_0014.JPG

Can you see the map of the United States?

So much for passing time in the sky. We are relaxing in Detroit, waiting for our flight to Minneapolis.

~~~
Update:
We are in Minneapolis waiting for our flight to Bemidji. We had great flights and connections
Sunday With the Girls
February 14
DSC_0004.JPG
 We are still dealing with blowing, drifting snow, especially on secondary roads. This is what our road looked like as we drove to church on Sunday. It still looks pretty much like this.
DSC_0007.JPG
 This was the girl’s day to be with us – to celebrate Diana’s half birthday.
Gloria, Jana, Jenna, Diana, and Cerwin
DSC_0011.JPG
After church we went to Twin Kiss for lunch – Diana’s choice for a restaurant…
 …and bowling for her special activity.
Then we went back to Twin Kiss for dessert. My hot fudge sundae was free. A Valentine’s Day special. Buy one sundae and get your sweetheart’s free.
 After we got home, Diane decided that I needed to update her picture on the refrigerator.
 Jenna wanted hers updated as well
 By evening the girls decided to light my birthday cupcakes. My birthday has lasted for almost a week.
 Roy’s mother sent us some Florida oranges and grapefruit (via Roy yesterday). They are delicious.
