Hot Dog Roast

We planned a Sunday evening doggie roast for our Pennsylvania family because Josiah and Abby were in the area (from Maine). They stay at our house, so we get to see them, but the rest of the family does not – especially the great grandmas (with backs to the camera).

When everyone was combing their hair the next morning, I took the opportunity to work on a picture for a PowerPoint presentation I am doing next year when I teach on the benefits of developing a good attitude.

We started the evening with a covered dish supper at Jakey and Crystal’s house – our nephew and niece.

We are enjoying keeping our three youngest grandsons more than usual this fall – because big brother Josh is on our local school’s football team.

I went outside with them for awhile, but since Cerwin was working on the porch, I came inside. When Cerwin came in soon after I did, I said, “Oh, I thought you would be outside for awhile. I don’t want the boys outside alone.”

Then I had the scare of my life.

I went outside and couldn’t find them anywhere. It was dark, so I should have been able to see three flashlights. I looked everywhere and called their names without any response.

I hurried inside to tell Cerwin that I couldn’t find the boys – and there they were – playing GameCube. They must have come in the back door about the same time I went out the front door.
