Enjoy a few pictures as we arrived at the wedding site.
Waiting to hand out wedding programs
Flowers by Mary Katherine Hernley – mother of the bride
I did not use a flash during the ceremony, so photos will be a bit softer than usual.

Exercise daily in God—no spiritual flabbiness, please! Workouts in the gymnasium are useful, but a disciplined life in God is far more so, making you fit both today and forever.

Chuck-E-Cheeses
Saturday, October 23
We arrived a few minutes before the doors opened and watched this squirrel that was on the building – trying to decide if it was dead or alive. It didn’t move, even slightly during the five minutes we watched. Finally one of the children left the car and walked toward it – and it took off.
Jesse
The children played nonstop for the next two hours. I always take them to Chuck-E-Cheeses first thing in the morning (9:00 a.m.) and leave at 11:00 before it gets full. Although on this day there were three birthday parties, and it became full very early.
Deb and Jesse
Our grandchildren were pleased that Aunt Debbie, Uncle Roy, and their young friend Zachary met us there. We were celebrating late summer birthdays (Ian and Zachary) – and Gloria’s half birthday).
Deb catching bees
We didn’t realize for a while that Jesse was feeding tokens into this game because each time he did he got a few tickets. Deb is playing out the eight or ten tokens in the machine. ![]()

Gloria and Roy at the photo machine
Gloria and Roy at the Deal or no Deal game. This is my favorite game.
Ian playing baseball
As I started walking away, I heard him calling, “Grandma look! I hit the jackpot.”
Jana
Jared choosing tokens for the next few games
Gloria loves to ride the horse

Jesse enjoying a car
Ian counting his tickets
Zachary waiting his turn to count tickets
Jenna racing a car
Jana, Gloria, and Diana playing games
Jared catching bees
Zachary and Jesse in the overhead tunnel
Coming down the slide
The entire group following two active, fun hours.

We could not be careless with our time, as Cerwin and I were going to the afternoon wedding of Kevin Lynne and Beth Clapper. I know some of you are waiting for those pictures, which I will begin posting in my next entry. ![]()

As we keep his commands, we live deeply and surely in him, and he lives in us. And this is how we experience his deep and abiding presence in us: by the Spirit he gave us.

Thirty-One Party
Tuesday, October 19
I never heard of this kind of home party, so when our niece Amy sent me an invitation – and I had the evening open – I decided to check it out.
It was a fun party with ladies and girls who are friends or relatives of Amy.
The consultant, Donna Neff, is standing in the background. If you live in the Lancaster/Lebanon area of Pennsylvania and would like to host a party or order a product, you can contact her at www.mythirtyone.com/dneff. I asked for permission to take photos and promised to advertise for her. ![]()
I understand that Thirty-One got its name from Proverbs 31.
Most of the products are purses and bags in a variety of sizes and materials.
I purchased a winter “grandma bag” for church. We often have grandchildren sitting with us, so I like to keep things in my church purse that are small, quiet, and fun to play with – and there must always be room for a small bag of Gummy Life-Savers.
What a fun evening.
