Baptizing

Sunday, November 21

When I saw this view from my seat in our living room on Sunday morning, I knew I had to go outside to take a picture.

Following worship at our church, family and friends gathered around the baptismal pool to celebrate this happy day.

Carl Groff (one of our ministers) read a few verses of scripture. No he does not have a color illustrated Bible – that is the bulletin for the day.

Another minister Luther Patches administered the rite of baptism to seven of our young people.

Singing Oh Happy Day

O happy day, that fixed my choice
On Thee, my Savior and my God!
Well may this glowing heart rejoice,
And tell its raptures all abroad.

O happy bond, that seals my vows
To Him Who merits all my love!
Let cheerful anthems fill His house,
While to that sacred shrine I move.

’Tis done: the great transaction’s done!
I am the Lord’s and He is mine;
He drew me, and I followed on;
Charmed to confess the voice divine.

Happy day, happy day, when Jesus washed my sins away!
He taught me how to watch and pray, and live rejoicing every day
Happy day, happy day, when Jesus washed my sins away.

When the Cats Are Away

The Mice Play

Saturday, November 20

DSC_0025

While Cerwin, Jeff, Jere, and Jordan were hunting, Diana and Gloria decided that they wanted to spend the day – and night – with me.

Jenna wanted to come too, but has a Saturday afternoon job, so I suggested to Chris that we meet at a restaurant (between our homes) for supper.

Roy and Deb bought a car in Hershey, and asked if they could stop at our house. I said that we would be at Kountry Kitchen – along their route – so they came too.

I called Kristen to see if they were home from cookie baking – they were – so I called the restaurant and made a reservation for fourteen.

Chris and Kristen keeping an eye on their children. Notice my coffee cup? It was filled with delicious cinnamon/pumpkin flavored coffee.

Trying to get everyone to cooperate for a photo is difficult.

That’s a bit better.

The three little boys chose Mickey Mouse pancakes.

When Jesse saw Deb’s ice cream with caramel topping, he wanted some for his pancake.

His reaction to the taste of caramel and ice cream on his pancake.

Do you see what we’ve got? An unshakable kingdom! And do you see how thankful we must be? Not only thankful, but brimming with worship, deeply reverent before God.

Homemade Leaf Catcher

Friday, November 12

  11-12 (1)

Cerwin is real pleased with his newest invention

11-12 (2)

A leaf catcher

11-12 (3)

He says this is much better than raking an acre of leaves.

11-12 (4)

I told him that he needs to paint it green and get two John Deere logos so it doesn’t look like a redneck leaf catcher.

Help From the Little Boys

Thursday, November 18

11-18 (3)

Jere and Kristen had a business dinner and meeting, so Ian helped me make spaghetti.

11-18 (5)

11-18 (7)

Jesse and Jared placing frozen Monster Cookie dough on cookie sheets.

11-18 (8)

Setting the table. You will notice seven place settings, as Josh and Jana were surfing on computers.

11-18 (9)

11-18 (10)

Thanks guys, you were a big help.
