The Scum players. Queen Gloria is looking just like that – a queen.
The living room activity was watching football.
Looks like Pittsburgh and Cleveland were playing.
The four oldest Myers children left for Maine about 3:30 p.m. because each one had to work the next day. They arrived home (Maine) in the early morning hours of Monday. Mark, Diane, Hezekiah, and Lydia stayed until Monday morning.

We got spoiled having our entire family in and out of our doors from Friday evening, December 24, until Monday morning, January 3.

An undisciplined, self-willed life is puny; an obedient, God-willed life is spacious.

Another Birthday Party
Sunday, January 2
This party is for a John Deere lover.
Mary Jane – Jeff and Chris’ neighborhood mother and grandmother.
Jeff and Chris planned this party to honor her, and used our garage because we have room and still had it set up with decorations and carpet on the floor.
This was the third birthday celebration for Diane in two days. I guess that helps make up for all the years she is in Maine on her birthday, and her Pennsylvania family is not there to help her celebrate.

The reason for their broad smiles: Jana was wearing high heels and Diana was on tiptoes to be as tall as her.

This is my favorite because everyone is smiling.
You know me inside and out, you hold me together, you never fail to stand me tall in your presence so I can look you in the eye.

Pork and Sauerkraut
Second Birthday Celebration for Diane
January 1, 2010
After coming home from breakfast ,some played games, others watched TV, and the rest of us did early preparations for a late lunch and birthday party for Diane.
It was about 2:30 p.m. when our pork and sauerkraut was ready for eating.
Deb (standing) prepared most of this meal.
Then it was time for Diane’s birthday cake.
Deb delivering the “flaming” delicacy.
Oh, yum, an orange-flavored cake.
Now I take limitations in stride, and with good cheer, these limitations that cut me down to size—abuse, accidents, opposition, bad breaks. I just let Christ take over! And so the weaker I get, the stronger I become.

Diane’s Forty-Fifth Birthday
Saturday, January 1, 2011
Since the guys (all 12 of them – sons, sons-in-law, and grandsons – except Jesse) went out for breakfast, Deb and I decided to take Diane out for her birthday breakfast. Lydia was the only one who was up and wanted to go along.
We got egg wraps thinking they would make a small breakfast, but they were large, (this is half a wrap) and came with potatoes. We should have gotten two for the four of us. We took the extras home, so the other girls got to enjoy them as well.
Deb surprised Diane by telling the waitress that this was her birthday.
For those who wonder where we were, we were at Brickerville House.

Since the Myers live in Maine, it’s a rare occasion that Deb and I get to take Diane out for her birthday.

What fun to have grown up daughters and granddaughters.
Grow up. You’re kingdom subjects. Now live like it. Live out your God-created identity. Live generously and graciously toward others, the way God lives toward you. [Jesus]

Adjusting to a New Camera Lens
December 31 & January 1
~~~
At the end of the Hershey Christmas Celebration, my 18-200 camera lens locked. Cerwin took it to our local camera shop the next day, where the owner said it needed to be sent to Nikon for repair. ![]()
The last sunset of 2010 – photo taken with my original Nikon 18-55 lens.
Our daughter Deb arrived early on January 1, and loaned me her 75-300 Tamron lens until mine is repaired.
This will be fun to have for awhile.
It’s nice having a daughter with a variety of lens. ![]()
