~ Thanks for Praying for Josh ~

He is home from the hospital!

Josh – Photo taken a few months ago.

When the doctors and nurses saw the photos of the accident, each one told Josh it is a miracle that he is alive.

The conclusion is that he blacked out – causing the accident – because there are no skid marks which would be there if he braked to prevent the accident, and he does not remember the accident.

This concerned the doctors, so for Josh’s safety they want to do more tests. They also informed him that he cannot drive a car for the next six months, and warned him to not be alone when doing something like swimming.

Father, we bow our knees before You with incredible gratitude for sparing Josh’s life. That tells us You have a very special plan for his future.

Like a good shepherd, he takes care of his people. He gathers them like lambs in his arms. He holds them close, while their mothers walk beside him.

Isaiah 40:11 (Easy-to-Read Version)

~~~
He will take care of his flock like a shepherd; he will gather the lambs together and carry them in his arms; he will gently lead their mothers.
Isaiah 40:11 (Good News Translation)
The End of an Emotional Day
DSC_0004
It doesn’t matter if it has been a normal day or not – the sun always sets. That is one of the wonderful things about God’s rythm of day and night
Since Josh is spending the night in the hospital his three little brothers are staying here. Jana went to the hospital with friends – to see Josh – then went home with Roy and Deb so she could be back in the hospital with Josh in the morning.
Jared and Ian wanted to learn how to play Othello
They caught on very quickly.
Then they moved to the couch to play the next game on their own.
Now they are in their pj’s, wrapped in blankets on the living room floor (where they will sleep) watching Funny Home Videos.
Update on Josh
(see previous post)
Latest message from our son Jere:
“Josh is being admitted to Lancaster General overnight for observation. They are concerned with what is a concussion and if there is anything else tied to that.”
Right now other than bumps and bruises there are no apparent injuries.
We praise the Lord for watching over him thru the accident.
Thanks for Praying!
Our Day Has Been a Bit Traumatic!
Shortly after Kristen brought Jesse here so she could go to an Amish woman’s viewing, she called to say their son
Josh was in a serious accident while driving to school, and was being taken to the hospital by ambulance.
While Jere was coming home from work to get Kristen, so they could go to the hospital together, he came upon the accident. I asked what that felt like. He said, “Words can’t describe what it felt like.”
The good part of that is: he was able to ride with Josh in the ambulance and relay the good news to Kristen that it appeared he was going to be okay.
That was a “God Thing” for all of us who were waiting, because we knew a bit more about his condition.
They are still in the hospital waiting on a few tests.
This was Jere’s latest text (10:47 a.m.): “Josh got clearance from the trauma doctor. We are waiting to talk to the ER doctor. Neck CT is good. Waiting for a few more results.”
Read my Bible verse entry which follows this post. I truly needed it this morning!
Mailing the Highway News
Wednesday, November 16
1a (1)
The December issue of TFC’s Highway News is ready for mailing.
1a (2)
Cerwin and I are responsible for mailing TFC’s individual Highway’s each month, and if we didn’t have any volunteer help, it would take us most of a day, but with four helpers, we can cut the time down to just over one and a half hours.
~~~

We appreciate having several local volunteers, and would welcome a few more. We would probably need your help about four or five times a year, and work from 9:00 a.m. until about 10:45 a.m.

~~~
1a (3)
This month Kathy and three of their children helped.
She and John homeschool their children.
Janessa has a job but was available this morning.
Josh
Jason
He enjoys seeing the variety of names, towns, and states.
Thanks for helping!
Let my teachings come down like raindrops.
Let my words drip like dew, like gentle rain on grass, like showers on green plants.
Deuteronomy 32:2 (GOD’S WORD Translation)
~~~

Let my teaching fall on you like rain; let my speech settle like dew.
Let my words fall like rain on tender grass, like gentle showers on young plants.
