On the Road to Chilliwack, BC
Day 5 – Saturday
Mitchell, SD, to Livingston, MT
Since we were on the road early, we drove out of the snow before daylight. I took 412 pictures today, but reduced that number to twenty-two for my blog.
First light
This is what was making the reflection in my rearview mirror.
It appeared this driver fell asleep and was waiting for a tow truck. I would guess that he is awake now!
I-90 in South Dakota
South Dakota scenery
We saw several herds of mule deer.
These states have more fences than buildings.
A short snow squall in the Black Hills of South Dakota.
We went across a corner of Wyoming (twenty-four miles).
We saw dozens of herds of antelope…
…also large herds of domesticated sheep.
Montana provided a huge variety of scenery.
More mule deer
According to the map, this snow-covered mountain is Crazy Mountains.
Cattle were also a common sight today.
This is the view from our cab as the sun set tonight. We are parked in a small truck stop in Livingston, Montana, about an hour north of Yellowstone National Park.
How is this for a parking spot for the night?
~~~
It was sixty-one degrees when we stopped here for supper, but the temperature has dropped to thirty-nine as I post this at 9:12 p.m. Mountain Time. I am ready to crawl into my sleeping bag.
Goodnight!
