Checked Out Tree #1

This is the tree that released one of it’s large branches on our house roof in July 2006 (see my posting date 7-3-06), and was deemed insecure for upcoming winter storms.

Perfect Drop

It didn’t stay suspended in air!

The chopping critter “ate” leaves and small branches.

Tree #2

This is the one we are going to miss the most, as it was in the middle of our circle driveway ~ and had been there long before we built our house forty years ago.

It began dying after lightening hit it a year or two ago, causing us concern.

Jared and Ian watched from a safe distance on a large log from tree #1.

Jesse was safe in his mommy’s arms, and had no concern for falling trees.

Logs from tree #1 were used to protect the driveway from being damaged.

Bottom branches were cut away ~ also to protect the driveway.

Ropes were used to help guide its fall.

 Cleanup

They wanted to keep this large trunk intact, so carefully loaded it on their truck.

Need tree work done?

These men are GOOD.  (I have their phone number and website.)

Remains of Tree #1

Our youngest son, Jere, summarized how we feel about the appearance of our front yard.

“Your yard looks naked.”
