Bible School is Over and We Are Going Home
It has been an interesting and challenging week in the adult class ~ studying how to “Plunge In” to obedience, courage, worship, and service.
Wednesday and Thursday evening were especially interesting for all ages when the storyteller and adult Bible teacher was Fred Beam ~ a return missionary from Africa.
I had my camera along on Thursday evening to take pictures afterward, so took this picture of Fred showing the children the hide of a zebra (center front).
He told how the people in one village were hungry and asked for food ~ then they would listen to lessons from the Bible. This was the zebra that provided meat for that village.
~~~
It sounds like the children were also learning. On Thursday evening parents, grandparents, and friends were invited to visit the children’s rooms after class.
Jared told me about his attendance chart…
…and one of the balls they use when playing outside.
Ian showed us a photo of his class and the frame he decorated.
Gloria has a bucket full of Bible School goodies.
This was her project.
Jana’s class did nail punch art.
They made tablet and pencil holders.
She was pleased to show us that she had already memorized all her verses ~ one day early. They had misspelled her name ~ the reason her name was on tape.
Diana’s project had already been put away by the time we got to her room, so she just posed in front of this wall mural in her room.
Hezekiah and Josh made tie-dyed shirts. Hezekiah finished Josh’s, after he went on a business trip to Canada with his dad (Wednesday through Friday). Josh’s sister, Jana, is holding his shirt.
Hezekiah is standing in front of the clothesline with books of the Bible written on cloth. Each night they tried to see how quickly they could get all 66 books in proper order.
This wet board shows how quickly it was done each night. I asked Hezekiah how quickly they did it last night. He didn’t remember, but said Thursday evening was the fastest.
Jenna’s class made Mancala boards for their craft. (I think that’s the name.)
The lowest attendance was 527 and the highest (parents’ night) was 632.
The beautiful sunset summarized our feelings at the close of the Bible School week.
Selfish service is temporary.
True service is a lifestyle.
