I don’t usually take photos during church services, however, John Minnich, who takes photos for our church directory could not be there today, and asked if I would take pictures of David Wenger’s ordination to the ministry.
Consequently, it seemed like a good time to give you a view of a Sunday morning service at White Oak Church of the Brethren.
Called to Serve

David, Shawn, and daughters (their son was sitting with the youth) listen as Levi challenges them and the congregation on disciplines that prepare a person to effectively proclaim the Word. He reminded us that preachers may stand behind the pulpit, but every follower of Christ is called to:
Study the Word
Do more than read – study. Know what you believe.
Walk the Word
Follow the Lord’s steps. Walk as He walked.
Preach the Word
Before people can believe the Word – they must hear it.
For them to hear it – someone must tell them. Romans 10:14

When church was over, David and Shawn stood at the front left, where the congregation was encouraged to greet them.
We are blessed to have Shawn and David (facing camera) in a leadership position at White Oak.
