TFC Truck Rally Meeting

Sunday, January 13

We always have this meeting at our house on the second Sunday afternoon of the New Year.

Each person represents their part of the June Truck Rally – presenting new ideas or affirming that things are going well where they serve.

Gene and Rose have been Rally Coordinators for many years, and with this meeting began transferring some of their responsibilities to our son Jere and his wife, Kristen.

Jere (to the right of Rose) and Kristen will become the Truck Rally Coordinators as of this June’s Truck Rally and Gene and Rose will be Assistant Coordinators.

Our grandson Jordan (who came after this photo) will begin assuming some of Jere’s responsibilities as Auction Coordinator.

We are excited about this year’s Truck Rally as a few major things will be changed.

#1. We will no longer have the CDL, Ruff & Tuff, Powder Puff, or Garden Tractor Roadeos.

#2. The children’s activities will be revamped and moved to the front of North Hall where the adult roadeos were held in previous years. The Coordinators for this will be Corby and Vanessa who served on the CDL Roadeo Committee for the past few years.

#3. We are going to add a “Blessing of the Trucks” which will be done individually by our chaplains shortly after the drivers enter the fairgrounds.

I am not a committee person – but I love this group of people who diligently work to make the Rally a day that honors the Lord and offers attendees a relaxing, fun, family day.

This year’s date is Saturday, June 22, with the Rally Celebration on Sunday, June 23.
