Catching Up After the Cruise

February 5 to 15

Those of you who know us, know that we have not been sitting here twiddling our thumbs – waiting for me to post all of the cruise pictures before getting on with life.

It was fun to extend the cruise memories by spending a month posting pictures – but it is now time to move on.

On Sunday morning, February 5, just before leaving for Sunday school, I noticed a very large bird in one of our trees. At first I thought it might be an immature eagle, but determined that it was a hawk.

The red tail hawk is often seen in our area, and as far as I can tell, that is what this is.

Cerwin went into chapel-construction-mode immediately upon return from the cruise. This chapel will be a replacement for the one that is currently at Pilot/Flying J Travel Center, Frystown, Pennsylvania. (more on that in the near future).

In this photo Glenn Fahnestock is welding where the trailer’s doors had been removed.

Another major and delightful change in our lives is that our grandson Josiah Myers (from Maine) moved into the guest room of our house.

You may remember that he recently went to welding school in Florida, so we were pleased that he got a welding job at Binkley & Hurst in Richland, Pennsylvania – about twenty-minutes from us.

On Sunday, February 12, after church and lunch, Cerwin wanted to check out the location of Living Waters Chapel north of Lebanon, where he would be taking a TFC International Chapel in a few days. We asked Josiah if he wanted to go along and show us where Binkley & Hurst, Richland, was located. He works inside the building where he is standing.

Because it was Sunday it was closed, so we had to be satisfied with seeing the outside of the buildings.

Much of their work involves farm equipment.

On Monday evening, February 13, his sister Abby (who is married and lives about a mile from us) brought us these delicious cookies for Valentine’s Day.

There was a neat surprise inside – a piece of mint candy.

2-14-12 Birthday and Valentine's Day (1)

The next morning, Valentine’s Day, my sister Nancy took me to Brickerville Restaurant for my birthday breakfast. We live next door to each other (the backs of our houses face each other with a small woodlot between us), but we rarely sit down to just catch up on either others lives.

Since it was Valentine’s Day, I made one of Cerwin’s favorite stews for supper.

I also bought him a chocolate/raspberry filled cake at a nearby bakery.

2-15-12

On Wednesday, February 15, I followed the International Chapel #2 from Marietta to Lebanon (a forty-five minute drive the way we went) when Cerwin took it to Living Waters Chapel where TFC was being featured for the Wednesday evening and Sunday morning worship services.

In the next few days, I will tell you more about Frystown Chapel Construction and the services at Living Waters Chapel.
