More Photos From the End of June
…and Early July
June 26
Diane, Heze, Lydia, and their friends Ruth and Mary headed back to Maine. During the time the Myers were here, Ruth and Mary spent a week in Haiti.
The next day Jared, Ian, and Jesse were here for a short time. They love playing in the dirt under one of our pine trees.
I enjoyed watching this squirrel perched on a bird house.
July 2
We took Jana to Olive Garden for her birthday – finally. Her birthday was in March. ![]()
I told her that I want a lovely pose of her drinking tea.
Too much sucking!
That put her in a silly mood.
I love her in a silly mood.
We each received a bread stick.
Sicilian Scampi
I ordered an appetizer for my entree: Large shrimp sautéed in white wine, extra-virgin olive oil, garlic and tomatoes. Served over ciabatta bread.
Jana ordered Fettuccine Alfredo
Parmesan cream sauce with a hint of garlic, served over fettuccine.
Grilled Sausage & Peppers Rustica is Cerwin’s favorite Olive Garden entree.
Italian sausage, bell peppers and fresh mozzarella with penne in a zesty marinara sauce.
We had fun asking her questions like:
What is your favorite subject in school?
How do you want to be serving the Lord when you are forty.
If finances weren’t an issue, what job would you train for?
She asked us: Which of your children listened the least when you were raising them?
Our answer. “It wasn’t any of the girls.”
The boys were similar. So we couldn’t choose just one.
She also asked us to tell her about the most embarrassing thing that ever happened to us.
(You don’t want to know.) ![]()
Cerwin threw up in church when he was a young teenager.
A teacher made me sit in a back corner of the school room because I ducked and laughed when the boys on either side of me shot spit balls at each other.
~~~
For dessert we choose Dolcini because they are very small.
Piccoli Dolci “little dessert treats”, layered with cake, mousse, pastry creams and berries.
Jana choose Chocolate Mousse with Dark Chocolate Cookie Crust
Cerwin chose
Strawberry & White Chocolate Cream Cake
I chose the Amaretto Tiramisu with Almond Cookie Crumble. It was yummy.
On the way home we enjoyed this beautiful sunset.
We were just about home when Jenna saw us (we didn’t recognize her because she was in a new car – new for her) and turned around and drove to our place.
She is pleased to have her own vehicle instead of having to drive her dad’s old truck. However, she said she got more attention in the truck. ![]()
