Afternoon Session

Part 1

Blessing Your Loved Ones By Your Attitude

January 29 & March 1

The photos below are from my flower photo album.

“If you do not listen, and if you do not resolve to honor my name,” says the LORD Almighty, “I will send a curse on you, and I will curse your blessings” (Malachi 2:2 NIV)

1b (30)

Blessing and cursing are interesting words.

Blessings from God have a lot to do with bestowing protection, wisdom, and happiness – and sometimes things.

Cursings from God have a lot to do with withholding protection, wisdom, and happiness – and sometimes things.

1b (29)

You don’t have to do very much research in the Bible to understand that it is a DELIGHT for God to bless His people.

1b (23)

The blessings I am talking about come from a lifestyle.

Living in a way that blesses my loved ones is similar – it is a lifestyle.

It is the kind of lifestyle where we position ourselves for God’s blessing or cursing by the choices we make.

1b (26)

God doesn’t have to bless us if we live by His attitudes, but He will – maybe not today, but count on it – it will happen.

1b (21)

A negative, complaining attitude positions us for failure – for lack of blessings from God.

A positive, godly attitude positions us for victory – for blessings from God.

1b (25)

We not only position ourselves for God’s blessings by our attitude, we position our spouse and children for blessings by the choices we make.

1b (20)

If we encourage and bless our children, we position them for blessings from God because they are more likely to make wise and godly choices.

If we ignore our spouse’s and children’s needs, continually putting them down, we position them for making bad choices, in which instance God will not place His blessing on their lives.

1b (9)

Blessing our loved ones does not guarantee that they will always make wise decisions, or that they will not have bad things happen to them.

Husbands, wives, and children are not robots. They may make bad decisions even when we are praying for them and treating them with a godly attitude.

1b (6a)

Bad things happen to godly people – people with godly attitudes.

Be assured that God knows what is going on, and He wants more than anything else to bless us.

1b (4)

The ultimate blessing for us is when we grow emotionally and spiritually strong in faith and in our relationship with Him during a painful journey.
