First Frost
I was not paying attention to the weather, so was surprised to see frost on Eli’s alfalfa this morning.
That’s not quite as dramatic as the weather in Buffalo, NY, where we are supposed to be headed tomorrow – for a fund-raising banquet. Our chaplain in the area, reports that the truck stop has two feet of snow, is closed, and without electricity. Because of downed wires, they have not been able to contact the restaurant where the banquet is to be held.
At this point it looks doubtful that we will be going, but we are still waiting for the deciding phone call.
This evening the same rows of alfalfa look more defined – after an afternoon raking – and it smelled so good!
Look what happens to the same field as I turn the camera toward the setting sun.
It’s hard to believe these pictures were taken at the same time of day.
The sun does strange things to a camera’s lens
