Our Beautiful Bed & Breakfast

While at Fergus Truck Show

Friday Evening, July 22 & Saturday Morning, July 23

After arriving at Riverwood, Marilyn gave us a choice of The Dog House or The Chicken Coop. We choose The Chicken Coop, because we slept in The Dog House last year.

As you might guess, there are many things about chickens in the room.

We visited a bit then went to bed – which felt delightful after a busy day at the truck show.

It was dark when we arrived, so I was anxious to see the grounds in the morning. The gardens looked inviting…

…but I thought it best to enjoy a cup of coffee, spend a bit of time with the Lord, and pray about the day before taking my camera for a walk. (Photo is of Marilyn pouring my coffee.)

When I did go outside, I first walked to the end of their driveway

I wanted to walk around Bert’s gardens on this day, and take pictures, so I did not go for a walk down their country road, but headed back toward the house.

I took lots of pictures of flowers, but will save them for another post and go inside for breakfast.

Our housemates were coaches and advisors for a boys rugby team from England. Left to right – First is Cerwin, then from England: Elliot, Julian, Zak, David. On this side of the table are TFC friends Len and Sue.

Zak’s wife surprised him by asking Bert and Marilyn to order a birthday cake for him. He thought this was his first birthday cake since he was a young boy.

Breakfast was cream-cheese-stuffed, blueberry french toast. It was delicious.

Poppy seed, raspberry muffins.

There was a pretty daylily at each place setting.

I gathered two more for this photo, then Bert brought the large one on the left. He said they don’t like to keep that one on the table because of its strong (but wonderful) scent. Now I know what I was smelling when I walked through the yard and garden.

More photos from Riverwood tomorrow night.
