Saturday at Fergus Truck Show

Saturday, July 23

Fergus (1)

This was Cerwin’s favorite pickup at the show.

Fergus (3)

I like the reflection of the other trucks in these shiny dry bulk feed trailers.

Fergus (4)

A double hopper B-Train

Fergus (5)

A visitor who knows Chaplain Len (just beyond photo on the left) and Sue (right).

Fergus (6)

There were two of these “sightseeing” rigs.

Fergus (7)

There was a lot of interest in the chapel.

Fergus (8)

When the Bryan’s truck went by, it looked like this little guy was driving, but he is sitting on his dad’s lap.

Fergus (10)

A nice Schneider truck.

Fergus (11)

While taking a photo walk on Saturday afternoon, I headed toward the tractor and truck pulls.

Fergus (13)

On my way back, I noticed that there was a good view of the chapel at the end of this row of trucks.

Back at the chapel I sat outside and did some “people watching” and was fascinated by the trucker’s footwear.

Fergus (17)

There was a time when almost every trucker wore boots, but not anymore.

Fergus (16)

Today they wear sneakers…

Fergus (18)

…and sandals.

Fergus (19)

Fergus (20)

…as a matter of fact, many wear sandals even on workdays.

Fergus (23)

I did a double-take when I saw this truck because it looked familiar – then I recognized it as one we saw at Mid-America Truck Show in Louisville, Kentucky, earlier this year.

Fergus (24)

A delicious evening meal is provided under the big tent in the concert area.

Fergus (25)

I left as soon as I finished eating because I saw evidence of something happening in the truck pull area. If you look closely, you can see Cerwin under the tent (in the middle behind the lady in pink) talking to Len, Sue, and Chaplain Claude and Huguette Mathieu, who arrived (from Quebec) earlier in the day.

Fergus (26)

This is how I knew something was going on in the truck pull area.

Fergus (27)

These three trucks pulled into place about the time I got there and revved their engines – making lots of noise.

It was a beautiful evening, and as I looked toward the west, I noticed that the chapel could be seen (in the distance – about the middle of the picture) from the far end of the stands.

Fergus (31)

The modified tractors are fun to watch, because the front wheels usually come off the ground.

Fergus (32)

A fancy pickup truck pulling the sled.

Fergus (33)

These guys found a great place to watch the tractor and truck pulls.

Fergus (34)

The day closed with the light show.

Fergus (36)

The others were ready to go back to our bed and breakfast long before I was ready to stop taking pictures.
