Tomato Pie Café With Tom & Janis
Broad Street, Lititz
Tuesday, August 9
It’s fun to eat outside at Tomato Pie, because the patio area is surrounded by tomato plants.
We chose this area because it seemed to be quiet and away from the sun.
My green tea.
Our table’s centerpiece was this rosemary plant.
The water fountain next to us created a peaceful atmosphere.
Tom and Janis serve on TFC’s chapel in North Bend, Washington, (not far from Seattle). We had a great time catching up on each other’s lives. They used to live in Lititz, and served on the chapel near Frystown, Pennsylvania, before moving to North Bend.
My delicious bagel.
The other three chose baked oatmeal. This is either Tom’s or Cerwin’s because they had blueberry. Janis ordered peach. For those not familiar with baked oatmeal, it is a crumbly oatmeal cake, usually served warm with milk – like a bowl of regular oatmeal.
It was relaxing to sit outside, eat, and visit on a beautiful morning.
As we were finishing our meal and preparing to go in various directions for other appointments, the sky became gray and rain drops began to fall. Perfect timing.
I could enjoy breakfast like this every morning.
