Friends & Banquets
Friday & Saturday, March 25 & 26
Last weekend began when we attended Living Hope Native Ministries Banquet at Yoder’s Restaurant, New Holland, Pennsylvania. Following the meal, Merle Nisly gave an interesting update on what is happening win LHNM.
We enjoy attending this annual banquet with friends Gary & Orpha and Ray & Eva, because we all served as team leader’s from our church when we taught summer Bible School at Pikagikum (a first nation reserve in Ontario, Canada) in the mid-eighties to the early nineties.
We were delighted to hear encouraging reports from Colleen who is now serving as a fulltime missionary at Pikagikum.
Saturday morning we had breakfast with Merle & Rita Nisly, CEO of Living Hope Native Ministries (right). We became friends with Merle & Rita because they were our contact (he was usually our pilot to the reserve) from Red Lake.

Saturday evening we went back to Yoder’s for TFC’s Lancaster Chapter Dinner Concert. The ladies were busy setting the tables when we arrived.
By 6:00 p.m. everyone was seated and enjoying a delicious meal.
We had a great attendance – 551 people. You may recognize some of our family members at the closest table.
Breakthrough was our featured concert artists.
They did a great job on all their songs, but my favorite were when these two played harmonica.
The highlight of the evening was when Shawn shared his journey from being raised in an ungodly, gypsy home, to being in a serious accident – doctors did not give his family any hope that he would live, and when he lived, they said he would never walk again. His three-year-old son died in the accident.
The accident happened at TFC’s Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, Chapel, consequently Chaplain Bunny O’Hare became involved in his life and eventually was instrumental in leading him to the Lord.
Today Shawn is back to driving truck.

I didn’t think I would ever get this information posted!
Because of multitasking, something happened when I put the camera card in my laptop. Everything was erased, and the computer would not recognize the card. I have a photo rescue file, and that didn’t work either.
My computer told me that I needed to format the card, but then I knew I would erase the photos – but eventually I did that. Still no photos. Then I formatted the card in my camera, and I was able to rescue pictures from October to the current ones I was looking for. ![]()
Now we are traveling, and the motel’s internet was down last night until about an hour ago.

I’ll give you a hint – the northeast is having snow, but we are seeing beautiful cherry blossoms.
If I can get online tonight, I let you know where we are.
