Supper at Jere & Kristen’s House
Thursday, April 14
I kept Jesse all day while Jere & Kristen made plans for her mother’s funeral. They received a meal from a friend, and since there was a lot of food, they invited us to join their family for supper.
The boys wanted to show me their tree-climbing skills.
Jesse couldn’t reach the branch, so I lifted him up – then left him hanging. ![]()
He dropped when he could no longer hang on.
He chose the pine tree where he could reach the branches.
The girls across the driveway could not resist coming over to see what was going on. They are good friends with the boys.
After supper Jared show us his new accomplishment.
He has great balance.
Their spring flowers are in full bloom.

I am posting this ahead of my usual lineup because…
It Was a Sobering Day in Our Neighborhood
Today, April 20
A Funeral Visitation & A Fire
A two-year-old Amish boy fell in the creek on his parents farm (behind Jere and Kristen’s house) toward the end of last week, and despite efforts by skilled doctors, he died last night.
Ask God to surround them with His love and strength.
There was more than usual horse and buggy activity in our area today, as friends visited the hurting family.
We woke up this morning to the news that a business in our neighborhood was on fire. I went online and noticed that there were forty fire engines and tankers at the property – plus three ambulances.
By evening there was still smoke, and the buildings were rubble. Eric, the owner, was interviewed for TV and was rejoicing that his wife and two sons are okay. The house is just to the right of the picture and is still intact. He was in upstate New York making a delivery.
Pray for Eric and Katrina and their sons Nehemiah and Derek who are members of our church. Today was Derek’s seventeenth birthday.
