I Am Blessed!
While most of you are full of turkey and the extras, and many mothers are exhausted (but happy) from cooking for their family, I had the privilege of enjoying quiet – alone most of the day. (The men are still hunting.)
I sat in my Laz-E-Boy, watching TV – news, Gaither Homecoming, a great Hallmark movie, more news, and I just started watching another Hallmark movie that looks like it could be even better than the first. I did all that while working on my laptop – adding several hundred addresses to my database.
For lunch I had soup and babysat three grandchildren so our daughter-in-law Kristen could take their oldest son and an elderly friend out for lunch.
These are my two favorite pictures from today
“Grandpa – I ate all your peanuts.” ~ Jared
This was my supper. Kristen brought it – ready to eat.
Shrimp cocktail and Starbucks coffee – it doesn’t get any better than that!
About an hour after Kristen took the children home, I got a phone call. On the other end was four-year-old Ian. He was crying so much, I could barely understand what he was saying. It seems he put a GameCube game in his pocket so he could play it at home. Somehow mamma found out, and he called grandma to ask for forgiveness.
As soon as I told him that I loved him and that he was forgiven, he said, “Can I play it now mamma” Kristen in her wisdom said, “Not tonight. “Grandma said you may play it, but you must wait until morning because you didn’t ask her for permission to bring it home.” Of course that brought more tears.
Every time something like this happens, I am reminded how blessed Cerwin and I are that each of our grandchildren is being raised by wise parents.
