Traveling Home & Gifts in Our House

Road Trip – Day 6
We had a nice – beautiful – drive home on Tuesday, September 21
I spent most of the day reading or playing a computer game – giving my camera a rest.
Two of our Maine grandchildren spent the weekend at our house, so I knew where this wonderful gift of canned food came from when we noticed this in our kitchen.
This was an anniversary gift from their mom – our oldest daughter, Diane.
(This is one good reason to have children, so when they grow up they can do the canning and you can travel.) ![]()
Red Beets, Barbecue Green Beans, Zucchini Relish, Tomato Soup
I love her canned tomato soup, so that was the first jar I opened, and enjoyed for lunch the next day.
Peach Marmalade, Blackberry Jelly, V-8 Juice, Dill Relish
Zucchini Salsa, Spaghetti Sauce, Carrot Salsa, Dilly Beans
Dilly Beans are another favorite of mine. They are green beans that taste like dill pickles.
Thanks, Diane!

A few hours later we discovered another gift, but had to do a bit of research to find its donor.

This interesting jug was placed strategically in our living room, and after some research discovered that it was a gift from Josiah – one of the Maine grandchildren who spent the weekend at our house.
He was working at an antique shop in Maine when he noticed this and thought of us because of our recent trip to the southeast. See this entry.
This will make a fun conversation piece in our living room. ![]()
Thanks, Josiah.
